I feel bad seeing so many comments giving Sean shit about going too fast and missing things or not seeming interested, since he’s posted about his breathing problems and was just trying to complete the series to have it finished for us so he could focus on his health. Hope things get figured out and get better soon!

I agree but I honestly feel like he should have just took a break from the game and focused on his health instead of rushing through it just to get it out. I think his whole fanbase would understand and be okay with it, and we would have gotten a better playthrough too. Him rushing through it and missing stuff made his playthrough not as fun to watch, especially when he complains about the game not doing something even though it is, he just didn't notice because he went through it fast. I hope he's doing alright and that it's nothing really serious but I just feel like he should have took a break and came back to the game when he was able to focus on it more and enjoy it more.

@@Ash21 not to argue, and i can’t preface that enough. seeing the comments on this video alone let’s me and really everyone else know that the people that are upset with how Sean is playing he game now would be just as upset if he took his time to rake through every little piece of information offered in the game. if he started to play the game, take a break to take care of his health, and came back to the game after deciding he was ready to come back, he would’ve been eaten alive by hate comments. i think he was damned either way, but this is the decision he made.

Jack just so you know. You don't need to progress the story every episode, don't feel the need to rush it for the sake of content. If you want to spend an episode just building bases and stuff then you should, just enjoy the game your way.

Jack, the clues for where many of the important locations are (including where ALAN’s last body part is) have already been unveiled by conversations between Robin and ALAN. If you go back through the conversations in your PDA, you should be able to pick up the trail on where to go next there. Hope this helps!

@@Ejpon this is what I mean so far we have seen one encounter the the checiclert (really badly spell but CBA checking) almost ho squid sharks ,no new void leviathan encounters but I think if I remember correctly you don't see the main two attractions till late game the ice worms which I know Jack did purposely avoid and I do not blame him and the shadow leviathan which is a very deep down creature

As much as I've been enjoying both playing this game and watching playthroughs, I have to say that the big bois aren't nearly as scary as base Subnautica (granted, I haven't met the Shadow Leviathans yet, soooo...). Ice Worms I've felt to just be a bit of a nuisance, with the Snow Stalkers actually causing more trouble for me (I was actually THANKFUL for the worms, since one munched a Stalker before the furry guy could munch me), and the Chelicerates are just. There. Base Subnautica, to this DAY, I avoid the crash site, dunes, and mountains as much as physically possible because Reapers still terrify me. Chelis though? I drive right by one and wave hello, maybe shock it on the face if it decides to get a little snippy with me. Much like the Ice Worms, I'm more intimidated by the surrounding hostiles than the actual leviathans themselves. Hell, Deep Twisty Bridges scared me more than the leviathans.

Hey Jack if you ever want to do another playthrough of the first Subnautica there's this mod being developed called "Return of the Ancients" and it's literally a lot of the creatures you read about in the pda but they were never implemented into the game itself. I hear the modders are even in contact with the creator of Subnautica, he seems genuinely happy that someone is continuing on his work.

What makes it even worse is the fact that you literally couldn't freely move the cyclops up and down on a pivot. You could only face straight while ascending or descending. Seatruck allows that but no one really takes advantage of it.

It's up to the game to make it more accessible, like making a maps tab in the PDA instead of burying them in logs, or as he said, adding more landmarks. If you're getting annoyed by his content, just stop watching, because he doesn't owe to anyone to change how he plays. You don't like Jack's content if you don't like him complaining about stuff he just missed, forgetting stuff is very much some of his brand at this point.

I think this is the problem with having collectibles guide you through the story. It's kinda easy to miss key pieces of the plot. Like you should be required to have found out about Sam's death fully to inject the thing and conclude Sam's story.

@@matejcevnik7362 yea considering how much exploring I’ve done in the leviathan room even with the highlight on, i still couldn’t find the pda everyone was crying abt until i looked up a vid for it. even some of my friends being pretty thorough loreheads ended up missing a bunch of pda(s) because of how well they blend in with the environment. in other words they’re pretty easy to miss and it’s a pretty bad way of telling the story overall. pda system = cool but inefficient

The PDA literally just explains that Sam died in her own explosion. It doesn't resolve 90% of the other plot points established earlier in her own storyline - from her supervisors acting strangely when she brings up the Kharaa (implying research into something like bioweapons), to the detective looking into her death being suspicious of the circumstances. It doesn't resolve a ton of its own implications, and ends incredibly abruptly. This is from someone who's played the game and collected every PDA. The story sucks.

That’s why Sam wanted to destroy the leviathan site and the big research site Jack still has marked got blown up. They were studying to make weapons with a rampant plague. That was the character’s motivation, so then of course Alterra covered up why she exploded the cave, because it was basically a humanitarian crime what they were trying to do. It all makes sense if you just read all the PDAs and put the story together.

Al-an gave you clues for the last two body components. When you crossed the extendable bridge, he said he detected something to the northeast. Also, at some point he told you he was having a hard time detecting where something was because it was very deep and possibly surrounded by crystalline structures.

I do wish he would have played through it as if it were a brand new game, especially sine he left early access so quickly to wait on full release. I played it with the old story they scratched, shortly before they got around to opening up the [redacted for spoiler] chamber, and just finished up my platinum on the PS4 version today! Was the best the third time around in my opinion, love seeing the fully-fleshed out product!

Yeah I'm really disappointed in this series, he's rushing it and not taking his time like he used to. There is so much he hasn't seen in the game yet and its like hes avoiding those places. We havent even gotten to see him fully interact with the chelicerate he just runs away from it. In the first subnautica he was fighting reapers with his knife. Like what happened? I can't believe this series is only going to be 9 episodes long. It's so sad

The fact that people hadn't realized that jack was having issues with his asthma by the 4th playthrough, is mind-blowing. My nurse instincts were peeked by episode three. I was like: "He needs to go get a chest x-ray. As someone that has asthma, it's hell in colder climates. I respect Jack alot for his content. He doesn't half-ass anything. He was sick and played through the entire game within a week or so. With that being said, Jack take care of yourself before anything! You have more than enough content for me. And he usually is very thorough and like to explore like his recent RE8 gameplay, he went to every single house in that game to loot it. That's why everybody is mad, he unknowingly set himself up to ruin the game experience, and blamed it on the game... (Also the reason people don't "find other youtuber" to watch the gameplay, is the same thing as people having favourite food, just bc the food is their favourite, doesn't mean they can criticize it or say that it's not delicious at some restaurants)

I think Marg's base is supposed to be kind of your 'go into the crystal area' hint since it's pretty much directly next to an entrance. Not a strong hint, but at least enough that like, if you're looking around her space you should wind up finding it, and they hope you're curious enough to poke around inside. Definitely no help in making your way deeper though when they specifically put the leviathans DIRECTLY by where you need to be when the instinct is to avoid them

I'll just leave this here: When the Frozen Leviathan was found, Sam got worried about a possible spread of Kharaa (or however the hell you write it). After getting redirected, lied to and basically told "stay in your place and don't question your betters" by Alterra, she took matters in her own hands after meeting Marguerita and the two of them sabotaged the Kharaa research efforts, with Sam blowing up the cave to seal the Frozen Leviathan in and Marg blowing off an ice wall to bury Omega Lab and destroy the bacteria samples within. Sam unfortunately was caught in the cave collapse and died. With her not having any history of violent/destructive behavior, Alterra closed the investigation believing the incident was a case of worker negligence on Sam's part. The anti-bacterial agent found in the cave was Sam's original plan to remove the Kharaa. Marg convinced her to go for a more drastic measure, so the agent remained hidden for you to find.

Yeah I agree but at the same time theres alot edited out for time. I just completed this game without any help. It is very tedious. I built a huge base with a big kitchen, lounge, work station, aquarium, and so on. I even had a bedroom that stretches out above the water. Then at the end of the game I remembered the pda lady saying in the first game when you first start building "you can make a habitat but remember this will never be a home"

I wouldn’t recommend to “plow through certain sections of it”. That’s one of the most important things to be learned from the first Subnautica. It’s best served and when the PDAs and dialogue are picked up and everything is taken in long strides and absorbed thoroughly, even if it’s slow. Unfortunately, if things are missed like that, it can feel like it’s still missing something in regards to the story because so much of the lore and sense is based and explained in those PDAs (and even backstory). Subnautica always has and still encourages you to take your time with it, explore everything and just absorb it all. It rewards you. Maybe it would have been better to play BZ at a later date when the mind is ready for that kind of experience again

Hate how rude people are being about jack but doesn’t read his Twitter saying he is having a lot of Heath problems. He can’t play a lot due to this and people want to hate...........

I mean him struggeling with health is of course horrible and he should for sure take the time and steps needed to take care of himself in whatever way works best. Not having a lot of time to game or upload video's is perfectly valid because no youtuber owes it to people to upload fast for the sake of being fast or uploading. However not having as much time does not need to equal rushing trough an experience, and people being dissapointed on the rushed aspect of this playtrough are not all hating on jack. Criticism or concerns are NOT the same as hate. People can both support Jack's choices and needs when it comes to physcal health/menatl health/ spending more time on his company, new home and relationship, and yet feel dissapointed by the change in gaming style. Jack doesnt need to change anything, especialy if he doesn't have any desires to do so even with taking the criticism to heart. But people who where invested in the way he used to play subnautica are equaly allowed to express some dissapointment and/or worry about this change. People not liking his current style does not equal bullying or hating or them not liking or not supporting Jack anymore. You can be critical of people your fond off and support. I for sure hope he will feel better soon. I also hope he will go back to how he used to play games because it just had more heart to it. That is of course personal. Jack should do Jack, and if thats different now from what was before and he feels happy and content with that, then in the end thats all that matters. Of course I'm not talking about the people who are going out of their way to be nasty and start insulting or demeaning him or his playtrough or nitpicking every single thing. These kind of people are just toxic. But fans can be fan and still be critical. It seems as if people sometimes forget this.

@@amberanime oh no I think there was a miscommunication I saw a couple of comments that said some harsh things like how he was breathing to hard and that he needed to stop that in their headphones type comments. But I mean if he doesn’t have time I completely understand both sides. He doesn’t have to upload right away but I do see his point that the early access ruined a lot of the game for him so I see both sides. But people saying shit about his literal Heath problem is down right wrong! Sorry if I didn’t convey that correctly sorry!

@@gipsydangeramericasmonster9632 And two maps! I don't mind him struggling, but I wish he wouldn't blame the game for it when it holds its hand even more than it did in the original. He literally says he had to spend hours studying the map of the first game to understand and navigate it but didn't treat that like a design flaw, vs now when he can't navigate with a map and marker given to him to navigate with he blames the game...

@@peeblekitty5780 You nailed what I feel is missing in this playthrough compared to the original Subnautica. It feels like Sean's rushing through the game and not really enjoying discovery, and he had played both games in early access so it's not just about having played early access. I played early access in both and have played through Below Zero and I STILL love exploring the map just for exploration's sake. Like I think the new creatures, gadgets etc. have just as much potential to be scary and intriguing, it feels more like Sean's attitude towards the game has changed.

Jack did mention he does have health issues (asthma, because of the game really, so it has been shut down), idk when it started but it might be why, he did say he was tryna finish the game asap. I hope ur fine Jack, ur a legend, best wishes!
