Loved the video, especially your discussion about the community debating continuity. The puzzle isn't fun anymore when anyone can say "that's just a retcon" or "that was just a mistake of the writers". We as a community need to tone down the toxicity and be open to new evidence/discussion and we need the Creators (Scott and Co) to define the rules and boundaries we are working in to help us solve this puzzle. Keep up the good work!

In my opinion the most glaring issue with the franchise right now is the blatant mistakes. Like you said, two books which were supposed to be literal guides to understand the story as a whole are riddled with them already, and I think that makes fans to wrongly assume sloppiness by the makers of said story, or even a lack of understanding of their own narrative. For a community that over-analyzes every single detail, what seem like inconsistencies can be (and I've seen it done time and time again) reduced to "mistakes", and probable mistakes or intentional vagueness can be seem as facts and passed around as such, like you said. That might generate profit due to FOMO for new products to "understand the story better", but it also creates confusion and frustration, like you can already see with the more vocal members of the community. Idk, just my two cents, I guess.

It almost certainly won’t ever happen because he tends to stay out of this type of thing, but I always wished that Scott would come out with a set of explanations for things like this. He seems to unfortunately actively avoid explaining what things are canon, what has actually been retconned, and what the intentions behind certain aspects were. The luckiest thing we could ever have may be a timeline from him, showing us the story from his perspective (though this would remove some of the mystery that makes the series so compelling). So many arguments could be prevented within the community because we just get stuck on little things that could easily be explained by Scott. Most of the questions I end up having about the series are not about the story, but about what is actually meant to be part of it and what isn’t.

16:21 and 37:40 Wow, these two parts of the video really pulled something out of me. I usually don't discuss my opinion on most topics online, but the mention of mathematics and echo chambers has made me more talkative or textative. I've been part of the FNAF community since my childhood, and I have been studying pure mathematics since grade 7 of school. For FNAF, my primary source of theories was The Game Theorist, and for mathematics, it was Numberphile, Khan Academy, Wikipedia, blackpenredpen, Dr. Peyam, etc. It was only later on that I started taking in other sources of information on both subjects and from this I realised that even the most mainstream or well-accepted view on a topic can be demonstrably -false- flawed. Nothing is above scrutiny, even mathematics. Echo chambers and misinformation always follow the pursuit of knowledge like a shadow. It's good to point them out and show people a new perspective, so thank you :). I hope this comment wasn't too off-topic. I just don't like the culture of shutting people down for having different views... and great video!

I dont see how they wouldnt know it messes with electronics, when you mention its given out frequently. I think the best middle ground is the magnets were recalled, they were mostly fixed up, but Gregory got lucky and got a defective magnet. I think thats all the hippo magnet recall was trying to say, there do exist magnets that affect electronics.

The main thing I hate about this whole continuity debate is it’s feeding into the newly growing toxicity of the theorizing community. Back in the early days it was rare to see hate and slander over a theory, but now a theory can’t come out without a swarm of haters arriving to harass, ridicule, or even threaten the theorist. These people seem to see the other theory perspectives that contradict another theory they like and start hating on it because they don’t like it, as if the theory they like is confirmed fact, when I love seeing contradicting theories. Seeing two theories that contradict each other gives me a good opportunity to compare both theories and determine which I feel might be more plausible or even combine them into an entirely new theory that both others might not have considered. That is what I want this community to end up as, one that happily welcomes new theories, doesn’t hate on them, and can use those theories in combination to come up with their own.
@HassenOsnel
@HassenOsnel 8 ай бұрын
The theories are now more hated and contradict each other more due to the release of the books The debate before was "will this theory make sense in lore?" and now after the release of the books the debate is to find out if any book tells that theory to say to the creator's face "HAHAHA you idiot in this x book of that x story this x thing happend which contradicts your entire theory" That's what happens when you make the FNaF books canons along the lines of the games.

@@HassenOsnel >The theories are now more hated and contradict each other more due to the release of the books Thing is, even the books didnt produce THIS much toxicity. It's either been building over time, becoming more apparent by Help Wanted onward, or it sprung up around Help Wanted, and let loose in a flood of Vitriol on Security Breach's release, and that flood has STILL not stopped even today, though it's slightly slowed. Generally, a hugely common consensus is "i dont care about the games past FNAF 6, all of you are fucking stupid/poser fans". The "old vs new fans" thing was something thrown around heavily around SB's release, that "only new fans (children) can like that shitty game, ALL OG fans hate it" when that's blatantly not the case :V

My own interpretation of the FNAF lore is that nothing is canonically tied to anything anymore because of the precedence Scott set in his attempt to cash in on as much of a golden opportunity as FNAF was for him. Desperate people do desperate things, and when those desperate things succeed as much as FNAF did, you can bet people will attempt to replicate or follow in his footsteps, and that combination between people believing Scott to have cracked some kind of secret formula or is making a deeply interconnected and lore-rich Tolkien level world and the desperation that Scott suffered from makes a game series' quality very volatile if left in the hands of someone who doesn't know what they're doing or doesn't care. Scott did know how to make great FNAF games and cared a lot for the fans, and while that certainly made him great it also made him flawed. In my opinion, there are technically 3 different FNAF continuities. There is pre-remnant, post-remnant, and Steel Wool Studios. And the books are a different variation of the story. That was something I could agree with. Now, what problems will I have? Well, if you were to make any sudden conclusions about what the stories of FNAF should be then I'll be upset. Just stick to keeping things open-ended like you promised and we'll be cool.

>In my opinion, there are technically 3 different FNAF continuities. There is pre-remnant, post-remnant, and Steel Wool Studios. And the books are a different variation of the story. That was something I could agree with. Admittedly, i'd argue there's only two. Pre-Remnant, although this could easily be split into 3 parts on it's own. OG FNAF 1, FNAF 1-3, and FNAF 1-4 (and maybe World 1.0)... And Post-Remnant, where Scott said "screw ending the series every other game" basically, and stuck to one plot for the most part. Why i say this? It seems pretty likely FNAF 6 was never meant to be an ending, to the series, especially since it raises so many more questions in rapid succession, like FNAF 2 did. Infact, it kinda does lead fairly nicely into Security Breach, although everything Burntrap and Mimic people are literally screaming death threats at eachother over on whose headcanon is superior currently... AR would have helped a little too, but Illumix screwed Scott AND us far more than Steel Wool and Scott ever have, so we're missing details like Michael surviving FNAF 6 and working for FazEnt :V

I think the vagueness is intentional. If the books are considered to be in the main line continuity by some, and not by others, it encourages people to read the books for themselves. Especially considering that coverage on the books online is not as easily accessible as coverage of the games, as you make mention of. I’m not necessarily saying that this vagueness is strictly for profit (though I do believe it’s the most likely reason). It’s possible that the decision to get people to read the books for themselves was to make sure the authors efforts were not wasted.

In my mind, I like to look at these books through broader strokes. There are outside authors coming in to work on these books, and even Scott, the creator that he is, is not an absolute loremaster. We can see hiccups all over certain books. For example, in the Tales from the Pizzaplex story Cleithrophobia, The Pizzaplex's version of Ballora is described almost identically to that of original Funtime ballora. Her design does not match the dominant Glamrock design language at all, which makes me think the author was simply given an image of Funtime Ballora as reference. There was also that time Glamrock Chica was described as yellow. One mention in one story. Nowhere else. I use this to sort of compare and forgive certain discrepancies. It really can depend on how important they are to a story. The author got Susie's hair color wrong? I can let that slide. 6 victims in the MCI? That is a tougher pill to swallow. I think the biggest example of "Variation" comes from the early Tales from the Pizzaplex books. In these books, the Pizzaplex is described as being a pizza shape, with attractions that seem to change locations between stories. This clearly reads to me as the Book creators and Steel Wool working on their projects in the same time, but not in direct communication. The authors can't reference the layout of a pizzaplex that doesn't exist yet. Later books do call out game canon locations, and even canon Security Breach game events. Things became a lot more consistent once the authors had Security Breach to work with. I also wouldn't think too deep into the Mr Hippo Magnet. The Bobbiedots story is full of clumsy explanations for in-game occurences, such as DJ Music Man's Bouncer Mode and the Generators in the Play Structures. To me this explanation of the magnet simply serves as a surface level posthumous explanation for why the magnet was strong enough to fry the ticket machine in base game. In my mind, Fazbear Frights is mostly separate from the games continuity. It is instead filled with allegorical tales that give context and information about Old Fnaf's inner workings, along with a few tangentially related stories designed to explore specific horror concepts, Goosebumps style. Tales from the Pizzaplex feels a lot more direct in the way it connects to the game timeline, and I like to entertain how certain stories like The Bobbiedots and The Storyteller enhance the world of new era Fnaf by being in-continuity. There are still a few what-if scenario goosebumps goodies here and there, as well as a few allegorical stories, but overall I like to consider Tales as Continuity Consistent as possible.

This video is great. And due to how great it is, and how it points out the flaws in TalesGames, I’d like to call something out for anyone who happens to read this, because while I don’t think TalesGames is canon, I don’t think that excuses something pretty major. If the Mimic can be carried over between continuities- which it has, seeing how it’s in Ruin- so too can Edwin Murray. If you don’t think TalesGames is canon, and you think that’s evidence that Henry created the Mimic, or someone else, I say this out of the kindness of my heart, I am utterly befuddled. Henry and William Afton were introduced in the continuity of the Silver Eyes, and then carried over to the games, so Edwin Murray also can do that. Also, he didn’t make the classic animatronics in the books. I hope I have gotten through to someone because I love Edwin Murray (and frankly hate the idea of the Mimic’s entire lengthy backstory with all these details is irrelevant)

The things is about William and Henry is that their names (or initials in Henry's case) have been brought up in games but Edwin hasn't been brought up at all in the games. Not to mention Edwin as a character is very similar to Henry so his inclusion would be redundant in the games.

@@johnman8398by this logic, the Mimic doesn’t exist, because its name is never directly stated. This is flawed at best. And Henry and Edwin really aren’t that similar. Hell, in the universe of Tales from the Pizzaplex, they coexist, which we know because FNaF 6 is directly referenced, and The Mimic takes place in 1984 at the earliest, which is after Henry would’ve made the animatronics for Freddy’s, and there isn’t really any continuity where Afton made them. So… good luck, I guess.

Alright, let's see... 1. StitchlineGames believers also have "variations" of TOYSNHK The one I believe in is UCNDuo/UCNDissent where BOTH Cassidy and Andrew exist in continuity, in UCN, Andrew acting as VS, TOYSNHK and Cassidy as Golden Freddy. As for TNK, I think it's just a "remnant" thing, where his remnant makes the person see his corpse. That could also be the same with the ball pit in ITP along with the fact that this memory is just warped. (And before it's mentioned, Cassidy would be gone before TMIR1280, that's why she's not a brainwave) For Cassidy to suddenly switch genders would be to include that...characters can suddenly can change genders across continuities, for...some reason? Also, this is more of a headcanon, but the graves perfectly line up if Cassidy is a girl. 3 boys to 3 girls. "Genders never mattered" Okay,i honestly...do not agree. So one is a joke, one is most probably a retcon(I see no reason why this would refer to The Puppet here since Charlie is the one dying) and one is a joke...eh, nah, I'm not believing that argument. Sorry, i don't think the gender of VS is just a troll. (Also, it's kinda cool how it lines up with the fact that the image TOYSNHK was edited from is a boy himself, while, yeah, the face itself is probably not meant to be accurate) If you believe WillPlush, then Toy Chica once says "Tomorrow is another day!" which is a thing that Fredbear Plush also says. And I think most people believe that TCHSY is not meant to be taken too literally, just the important details(well, technically these could count as real "parallels" or something, oof) Imo it feels TOO connected to not be. "There's no reason to invent a 6th child" That depends, since we don't know what goes trough Scott's head. The main 5 have always tried to kill who they think is William, not torture him endlessly. Andrew's main point could be the theme of being forgotten, that's why he NEEDS to show that he's THE one William shouldn't have killed. All the others got their vengeance...Andrew never did. I mean...what exactly does stop FE from hiring another person to make the games because the previous guy has...died? If you look near the thing we're supposed to put our magnet on, it says:"Keep magnet away from this machine" basically. Considering how cutting corners and trying to sell as much stuff as they can is in fit for FE, this could be FE just bringing back the magnets since they still have stock and it could still make them money. (And gifting it for free would be the same reason as irl companies do, perhaps "as part of a promotional campaign to attract new customers or reward existing ones") I think it not being clear is kind of the point right now ngl, otherwise...how come it has not been clarified yet? How come that Scott, having seen the emails that we sent right before the Dittophobia leaks, didn't even try to mention it? I agree that it shouldn't be like this...but I guess it technically works for marketing, this way people searching for parallels/contradictions/connections will ALL buy the book. As for what you can do for the books being more accessible...well, ig you can find live-readings(with pages) or audiobooks. The thing i do is just...i don't know, listen to the arguments made and collect the story piece by piece. And yeah, some people have bias against people who don't believe the stuff that they do and this is true for BOTH sides of debates. This is why I think people should be more willing to hear out someone's point, even if they disagree, before making their conclusions about something. (By the way, i think this is the first time i'm watching a video on this channel and i think i like how things are laid out in the video, so good job, lol)

The Chica cut scenes always hit me as trying to communicate the "mindset" of the killer, not the literal methods that were used. Toy Chica daydreams and plots about hunting down her victims one by one in different ways. She's picking them almost randomly and then trying to assign value or reason for her choice sort of already in the middle of plotting the murder. Pig Patch is sort of the joke point of that issue. The over-the-top plans perhaps symbolize the killer isn't a "practical" or "calm-tempered" person, but someone who gets tied up in over-planning, creating things that are too elaborate. It's like how the Freddy and Foxy series of cutscenes are all about a pair of rivals that are actively working against each other; it's not literal, it's to say; There was a killer. There was a rivalry. These alone are immediately useful confirmations/puzzle pieces to take and use. With the books, I feel like Scott is also offering hints, but like you say I agree there is a clear difference between Canon and Continuity. I think another way to describe it is to use Dungeons and Dragons; when two different groups of people take the same set of books and start playing D&D in two separate households (and never compare notes) their game experiences / the game narrative will deviate and the "history" of their worlds will grow in different directions, even though they both started holding sessions based on the same material. It doesn't make either D&D group's experience less valid; they just don't share the same continuity. The same universe/ canon, yes; the same elves, magic system, battle system, ancient lore... But one group might have ended up exploding the moon by the end of their first session and the other group maybe have started a civil war within a kingdom by their 8th session.

My personal opinion on why Talesgames is probably game canon is a little simple. And it's that it didn't tell a complete narrative. What I mean by this is that, for the Novels, it was clearly stated that it's in its own continuity so it could tell it's own story without hiccups. Nothing more, nothing less. Simple. Then there's Frights. And while the continuity of that with the games is questionable, that series did still tell its own story. There was a beginning, middle, and end to the narrative of Frights. At least 1 story in every book came back around during the ending of the epilogues in some compasity. But for Tales, that really was just a collection of short stories. And while some characters did appear often in them, like the Mimic, the stories involving him didn't tell a complete narrative. There's still mysteries about what happened to him after you finish reading all the books. Mysteries (stories) that are probably going to be continued in the games. So the TLDR of it all is this: the novels and Frights both end on a complete narrative. But Tales didn't. It didn't end on a complete narrative. So it's likely that narrative will continue within the future games.

and hey, that's a fair assertion to make. I totally agree. My question would be, is how do we know if the narrative we see in tales is the same one leading into the games, and not some type of altered version. the obvious answer is "why would they have any reason to alter the real story?", but I don't know. once again, this is a case where i'm not sure if I'm crazy or the storytellers have just done a bad job

@@brensnorf I'll have to admit that we factually can't know just HOW much for certain yet. After all, there's only been one game that released after Tales so far and it was just a DLC. But given what we've seen in that DLC, it does seem to continue the story of what happened to the Mimic endo after the epilogues. With his body being in peices, the turn off switch seeming to have literally been taken out, and the springlocks on one of his legs does seem to show the state he was in after that last epilogue. Literally already continuing a loose plot thread from Tales.

I feel that the importance of the books and accessibility being a problem is a bit overblown. I say this because even if a person can't get the books, they can just follow the games. Most major questions will be answered in the next game (or new information that game provides allows you to better understand the previous one), Scott said as much in his post using SL as an example.

This is a really great video! I've been trying to figure out the lore for the past week or so to tell my friend before going to the movie (it hasn't been going very well haha), and the hostility I've seen online (especially in theory videos on yt) over how the books should be interpreted really saddened me. I pretty much reached the same conclusion as you, that we shouldn't be attacking each other (or anyone for that matter) but that we should be getting some kind of explanation about how the books fit into everything; you just explained it a lot better than my scrambled brain ever could ;) And also that some people seem to have forgotten what theorising is all about in a community like this, not as something that always has to be 100% correct, but just to have fun trying to fit the pieces together in ways that may or may not always fit that well lol. Anyway, again great video, I hope many more people will get this recommended like I did :)

There's a really good line in the (very funny) "Giorno explains King Crimson" video. Which is a video which is about how totally nonsense theorizing become when a story is badly explained. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5-3l6lolsedm9ksi=vqDcGWbHdhhkNtoG&t=1480 To quote: [ROHAN] Hey, you tell me which outcome is more likely, the scene was written with all of that overbaked nonsense in mind, OR it was just a minor lapse of judgement in a story that never focused too hard on the minute details in the first place. What do you think is more important in a story: Following every single rule originally stated on page 1 of a long ongoing narrative, or delivering a cool scene where a companion is ripped away from under the protagonist’s nose allowing him to finally understand and confront the villain’s motive and motivate him towards his true goal. [GIORNO] …Well you may very well follow that train of logic, but I personally consider that a bit thought-terminating and like you’re not willing to engage with the actual puzzle laid before us. We’re not asking why the story was written this way, we’re asking how this ability works based on the information we WERE given. The books exist to add more fun (and very violent) spooky stories to the world for a young, probably pre-teen, audience to follow along with. And the books also exist as confusing possibly-relevant lore tidbits because it provides an audience of millennials and zoomers who are sucked into the "true crime podcast" aspect of the fandom. The books exist to provide spooky mysterious stories and must be regarded in that light. But it's thought-terminating to then handwave them away entirely. And that's where the frustrating part of the continuity debate is. And to be honest, it's the frustrating part of almost everything FNAF-related since UCN - HW potentially is in a different continuity to FNAF 1-6, but there's not quite enough information to make a decision. SB is a hacked apart mess of a game where it's ultimately impossible to figure out what the continuity was supposed to be. Ruin's entire gimmick is that it's all about what is and is not real. In the end SC, SWS and the other key partners in pushing forward FNAF stuff really need to decide if FNAF is supposed to have Transformers canon or not. Either it's supposed to be a set of dumb stories about murderous robots, or it's supposed to be a cohesive IP. At the moment, since UCN, it really seems like the intent is to be the former. EDIT: And just to add - the word of author is that SC doesn't retcon lightly, but the entire post FNAF4 timeline is retcons! FNAF World removed from continuity, SB removes dream theory from continuity, HW retcons FNAF 1-5 (as IIRC it has no FNAF6 content) and plunges FNAF6 into continuity problems. SB then attempts to fix FNAF6's continuity problems by having the Burntrap ending in continuity. Ruin the attempts to simultaneously retcon PQ as the true SB ending whilst also keeping Tangle from the Burntrap ending whilst removing Burntrap but keeping the FNAF6 area AND the Burntrap recharge booth. So thanks to retcons FNAF6 is simultaneously in and out of continuity. Which also applies to HW2 so far. Schrodinger's Continuity is awful and needs to stop being a thing.

There is only one thing I really hope and that is for at least a little bit of the Mimic's backstory to be told IN THE GAMES, it does not matter if talesgames is truth or not but if all the information explaining the mimic stays as a books exclusive and we get nothing on the games, not a single bit it would be very very bad desision Example: if the mimic was truly created by Edwin then the least we can expect is to get a reference or mention of him in the games, I said this becuase as someone who isnt convinced by the "Mimic creator Henry" theory I would not find more appealing the "Mimic creator Edwin" if Edwin stays as a book exclusive character The same applays to Gregory's backstory, if nothing of what happens in GGY gets at least hinted in the games it will be very dissapointed, am I asking too much?? In summary, I dont want for any of the big answers or explanations to stay "told in books exclusively" without a single hint or clue of it in the games

However, your point that it's not a _game_ character still stands. 30:10 The Ooftroop has a pair of videos talking about the Mimic, MXES, Burntrap, and The Entity, and one of the points they raise is that Mimic01 might not actually be Glitchtrap based on how it's described.

The main thing that bits the story in the ass is just how unplanned out most things are plus the books being required to solve the games and it always being a mystery no matter what. I know Scott didn't plan for a big story as evidence from the FNaF 2 DCI being completely irrelevant to the point where people don't believe they even existed. The story is at the point it should be planned out a year or two into the future where for example The Mimic's arc is carried through Help Wanted and onward until it's destroyed. Most people also don't read the books. I'm getting any and all of my info from third party sources like Entom and (to a way lesser extent) Matpat. The books are honestly great in concept but shouldn't be required to understand the games. With just one series of books we changed our theories to William Afton is back again to there's a robot called The Mimic that is copying William Afton which don't get me wrong I love the idea it's only pretending to be him but we should be told it isn't him via the games. Honestly if it wasn't for Tales I would of guessed that The Mimic in Ruin was Baby using parts from Molten Freddy minus the souls just trying to get out and kill more kids. We still don't know crucial story details (with definitive certainty) like when Circus Baby's Pizza World was open and Elizabeth was killed. We know it can't be after Sister Location but it could theoretically be as early as before the Bite of '83 but leaves William without a motive and his character goes from building murder bots to dressing up as a rabbit to kill kids. I do like we're being told some things clearly like Dittophobia and Help Wanted but that goes back to my second point.

So, I'm an enormous stitchline beliver and since you said you wanted to know more I thought I'd throw my hat into the ring. I also have a lot to say about Talesgames, but that's a comment for another night because this one sucked the soul out of me haha, so this comment will pretty much exclusively be about Stitchline So I'm gonna break down your Videos points into sections, I hope you'll read it and maybe discuss it and any questions you have that I haven't covered. *Circus Babys Pizza world* In dance with me, we see a Circus babys pizza world being opened. You claim that this is contradictory to the games because CBPW closed. However, there just isn't a contradiction here. The restaraunt seen in DWM is explicitly a *New* CBPW having a Grand opening in *modern day*. This isn't an alternate history version of the location from the games, it's just one of the many new Fazbear Entertainment locations opened up after the company returns from FFPS It's also important to note that this is a Stitchline story, because a location from it shows up again during Larsons and Eleanors battle in the ballpit The existance of a revived CBPW is also supported in other Frights stories, most blatantly being *Count the Ways* which revolves around a seprate Funtime Freddy than the main one in the games. *Scott's Announcement* I'm going to basically gloss over this point, not because I don't have a rebuttal, but I just don't have anything to really say other than "I don't agree with how you interpreted the quote" **Cassidy vs Andrew** This is something I've argued about for a long time so I have a fair bit to say about it so for claritys sake I'm going to break it up into a bunch of little sections *Cassidys Gender* In the video, you bring up how Cassidy being female should be overlooked. However I think that's a bad argument and I'll explain why, by using Charlie as an example. If you may remember, in Fnaf 2 the puppet was not originally possessed by Charlie. He was possessed by an unnamed little boy killed outside freddys. But it didn't stay like this, in FFPS Scott changed the aforementioned Puppet boy into Charlotte Emily, the little girl from the novels. Scott explicitly retconned the puppet into being Charlie. He didn't have to do this, he could have had Henry call Charlie "his son", but no, he didn't. Why? Because scott wanted to have unity between the two continuities. Now this brings me back to Cassidy. As you know, Golden Freddy is *not* Cassidy in the Trilogy continuity, Michael Brooks is. So why does Cassidy exist at all in the Trilogy? What was so important about her that she got to kick Jeremy out of the continuity? It was because Scott wanted to formally introduce Cassidy to the fanbase. So for Cassidy to be a girl in the Novels, means she is almost certainly still a girl in the games. There is no precedent for the change of characters genders between continuitys, and the only similar incident was changed to directly fix the gender discrepancy. *Who is Golden Freddy* In this video, you bring up the story "The New Kid" which you claim provides evidence that Andrew could be golden freddy. However upon scrutiny of TNK and the rest of the stitchline stories, this argument falls apart. For one, the child stuffed into Golden Freddy in TNK is questionably even a real body. It appears and dissapears randomly and not to mention it's weird connection to Kelsey, whatever the hell he is. Second, the Slithering. Throughout TNK, the story repeatedly make refrence to a mysterious slithering sound inside the walls of the pizzeria. I bring this up, because this alongside other stories in the series, points more towards the idea that TNK has nothing to do with Andrew & instead its actually more likely to be another one of Eleanors schemes And thirdly, Andrew's timeline. Andrew being Golden freddy just doesn't line up at all. For one, Andrew doesn't use GFred iconography to represent himself, and second Andrew is not connected to any mascot costume. Andrews spirit is tied directly to William Afton himself, and he has been ever since he was killed. There is no room in the timeline of Andrew's life where he could ever be Golden Freddy. So from this we can pretty definitely cross out Andrew as a Golden Freddy Spirit, regardless of what may have happened to his body, his soul never gets tied to GFred. So Cassidy is Golden Freddy, even under Stitchline *Who is TOYSNHK* Now we get to the big one, the main point of contention when it comes to Stitchline. To find out who TOYSNHK is, let's break it down everything we know about TOYSNHK from UCN and then compare it to both Cassidy and Andrew and see who fits. *TOYSNHK* • Is a Male spirit according to Susie • Hates afton & Wants to keep him alive to torture him forever • Always watching UCN from the shadows • Has been involved in more than one fire *Cassidy* • Is a female spirit, and has met Susie's ghost atleast 3 times by the time of UCN, so she shouldn't be misgendering her • Hates afton, but she doesn't want to keep him alive, she wants him dead, as seen with her actions in Fnaf 3 • Golden Freddy does not watch from the shadows in UCN. A little boys face does, so it's not Cassidy. • has only been involved in one fire • from the Logbook we know she wants all the spirits to move on and is directly involved in the Happiest day plan. Which is directly contradictory to the idea that she is TOYSNHK, as this would actively prevent Happiest day from occurring because she wouldn't be present at the party. *Andrew* • Is a Male spirit • Directly states he hates afton, and wanted to keep him tortured for Eternity • is always watching over UCN, both inside and outside of Aftons mind. • has been involved in every major Fire in the series pre-SB, because he was inside Afton during 3 and FFPS With all of this in mind, its clear that Cassidy just doesn't fit the bill to be TOYSNHK, the math doesn't add up. Unlike Andrew, who fits the role like a glove So yes, Cassidy is *IN* UCN just like Charlie, Susie, Jeremy etc. but shes not the one running the show. *TCHSY* You brought up these cutscenes and attempted to debunk the use of them & the acknowledgment of the extra victim. However I think your reasoning and logic is just kinda bad here I think you're looking too hard at the cutscenes nitty gritty details, and losing sight of the big picture. Because seriously, if these cutscenes aren't about Afton killing the kids... what are they about? Theres no other comparable event in the entire franchise these could be referencing. So did Scott just hire artists and pay voice actors for nothing? You're thinking too hard about it, ofcourse William didn't threaten one of the kids in a hostage situation, in the same way William didn't force Henry or whoever it is to cook him his bacon and eggs in the Bear of Vengace, or how he didn't actually melt a bunch of Keys together in Candy Cadets stories. What matters is the big picture. And the big picture is a story about a serial killer who lures 7 people to their deaths and gets away with it *The Pit & the Extra kid* So this is probably the 2nd biggest snag for Stitchline outside of the Cassidy vs Andrew debate. So I'll go through it First we need to Examine the MCI in the Pit. For starters, what the Pit shows is in no way and actual snapshot recreation of the MCI and how it actually happened in reality. The way the bodies are presented, the way the location shifts and changes itself, the magic coins appearing in Oswald's pockets, the Springbonnie Eleanor monster etc. Absolutely nothing about the Pit is truthful. So why should we trust its MCI to be accurate to how it happened in reality? We can't, because that's not the point of the story or the Pit The book even brings this theme up earlier, when Oswald and his father have their discussion on Kaiju movies, and how the the Remakes are basically cheap knock-offs of the "Real movie" Scott did not retcon and extra child into the MCI. The pit is incorrectly representing the MCI. Andrew being incorrectly lumped in with the other 5 is another case of the Pit just "loosing the plot" and getting details wrong. And then there's Andrew, who most non-casual believers in stitchline dont actually think was a 6th MCI kid. The more widely held belief is that Andrew was a separated event from the other 5 kids, that was part of the same killing spree but not the same location as the others, which is why hes not reported by the press as part of the same batch of missing kids. TLDR: The pit isn't a revisionist take on the MCI, replacing the original event in the Continuity, its an explicitly wrong knock-off of it which incorrectly lumped Andrew into an event he wasn't actually a part of

I have pretty much the exact same feelings. Stitchline games I don't believe can be possible at all. Talesgames I am more open to, but I still find it unlikely. The one thing I do disagree with is what you said about Frailty. I get that just because it has a similar locker it doesn't mean it's in the same continuity, but I think the fact that it is the first story in the Tales series gives it a bit more weight. Into the Pit was very important in fazbear frights, and while I'm not saying Frailty is the linchpin to the Mimic's backstory or anything, I think starting this new series by directly referencing the last one is trying to tell us that they're in the same continuity. That being said, I personally would take that to mean that Talesgames also can't be true rather than stitchline games being true.

interesting video but i do have some issues with some of the "contradiction" that really arent actual contradictions or points the first although minor issue is about toy chica cutscenes, if the cutscenes are a metaphore, arguing that the exact methods dont line up or dont make much sense is a non argument. noone argued that william did exactly what toy chica says, they are arguing its a metaphore in some way (usually by saying the amount of victims and the ever increasing brutality of the method), so that whole section was kinda irrelevant for tales, the "contradiction" about help wanted isnt a contradiction at all, that indie dev made 3-4 games, which lines up with help wanted the game where the first 3 are playable as full games and the 4th is semi playable although incomplete. just because pizza sim was also a game in universe (or, atleast there is a game called pizza sim) doesnt mean it has to have been made by that specific indie dev, it might not even have been an indie or horror game (could easily just have been the tycoon section) sure, it's not fully clear or expressly laid out, but to say it is a full on contradiction is incorrect, there are numerous reasonable theories on how it can still make sense that dont use non-arguments like retcons or writers forgor another one for tales is the hippo magnet. this one just straight up isnt a contradiction if you think about it for more than a minute. they had one specific run of hippo magnets that were defective (in what seems to be a time-frame set a few years before SB), it is unreasonable to say that they wouldnt have made more magnets that arent defective, they're small magnets ffs. as for why SBs magnet breaks the machine? it couldve been one of the defective run that accidentally got misplaced with the normal ones, it couldve been a normal one and that ticket machine is just very sensative to magnetism (as most electronics are IRL, you can open like, most electronic locks with a pretty weak magnet). is it a little weird that the detail is included in the books in that way? sure, couldve just been a nod to that and not an actual lore point. is it a contradiction? nuh uh i dont have anything to say about edwin age calcs (i havent rechecked all the dates and ages to make sure their math and interpretation is correct, wouldnt be the first time that a lack of reading comprehension made people come up with bad math and bad arguments) and i havent read any of frights so i have nothing to say on stitchline issues (ive heard that the ballpit doesnt show the literal mci, due to not being time travelling but smth else entirely, but like i said, havent read it)

Wow, yeah this was a nice and concise way to characterize the different sides of the community. Echo chambers and no help from scott or steel wool are damaging this series accessibility at the very least. Maybe this is all intentional? Maybe attempting to take events from the books and map them onto the games isn't the right approach. Maybe the books are (mainly) informing us about the series through thematic parallel and symbolism? Drawing a straight line through 23 books and 9 games never seemed like the way to go for me, and instead, most events in the mooks should be taken as analogs, as theres no reason to believe they happened 1 to 1 in game. Just an example of this kind of thought process. 4th closet baby is a fleshed out villain. Eleanor is a baby analog. The mimic (could be) a baby analog. FNAF 4 is conveniently solved juat before we return to SL, which we may be seeing the remains of in Ruin. I obviously can't do this thoery justice in a few words, but just having the freedom to speculate into symbols instead of trying to make it all fit together when we don't, and have never had a clear story, is a less mind melting approach to theory. People swear like we're working with a bunch of objective facts here.

"by locking down a community to just one opinion ..." Are we understanding this problem correctly though? When we are talking about hyper-specific communities like the kind that form on Reddit, there is really nothing stopping a community being made of a self-selected sample of people who all happen to have the same narrow set of opinions. Once that group forms, it simply does not contain anybody who thinks other opinions matter. This problem is complicated. At that point it's not a matter of discussion, it's a matter of diplomacy between two completely separate populations each defined by not just mutually lacking each other's characteristics but mutually not understanding why each other's characteristics belong anywhere near them. We are talking about a process that manages to take two groups of people who all like the same thing and transform those groups into _enemies_ as opposed to just divided camps. That's deeper than people just "disagreeing", "fighting people who disagree", or "trying to be right". That's having several incompatible FNaF communities that don't realize they aren't a single community.

The main argument for stitch-line games for the number of missing kids is that it is part of the inaccurate recreation of events with agony. Andrew’s agony somehow got in the ball pit so he was lumped in with the other five kids. I don’t agree with stitch-line, I just thought I’d bring it up.

okay so like. i dont get the argument of “the books are inaccessible” because like. did you forget libraries exist. these are gonna be pretty popular books among kids, if you have a library or two nearby, it’s gonna be pretty easy to find them i bet. like, did you go to the store and but goosebumps books as a kid? no, you got them from the library, because that’s where you get books.
@brensnorf
@brensnorf 8 ай бұрын
and that's a great point, and one that I should have certainly mentioned in the video. yes, you're totally right, as a kid most of the books I read were from the library however, it's important to keep in mind that not every library is going to have what you need. that was an unfortunate position I was often in back then. sometimes I’d get lucky, and the library would be able to ship it in from a nearby library, sometimes that just wasn't possible because nobody had it. so yes, libraries certainly help with the accessibility issues a ton. but it's important to keep in mind they aren't foolproof

libraries exist but they're definitely not as accessible as a device that you already have to learn about the content. Like, the fact that people will have to go to a separate location physically to get a book and read it is already going to weed out quite a lot of the fanbase that exists on the internet. Plus libraries may simply not have the books in stock for many locations, or some books will be checked out already...you know. Its not quite as easy as like, reading a wiki article or watching a yt video.

Tbh the fnaf books is probably the worst written to wver come out on humanity the characters are inconsistent whenever they appear you could find it more with the novels with they're William in the first one hes more or less your typical murderer in a horror story but in the last hes more in line with his game counterpart when i was reading the trilogy i was severely underwhelmed the same level paul got announced the frights one is better but slightly like its not a big improvement the novels are aids even the velma ahoe did better than the novels the novel cant even be comparable to isekai animes the novels makes isekai animes look like the dark knight returns or creations made by shakespeare when it comes to writing 💀

Almost Everyone is hysterical over this, it’s not black-and-white. Just like the saying we come to understand once we become an adult, everything is in black-and-white. !!!💀 Lol. My opinion is that every time Homura restarts ‘the timeline’ {(in Puella Magi Madoka Magica) The FNAF timeline gets reset! That’s why, maybe things can be “real” but maybe not relevant to the story; set in the GAMES.. The movie will be an entirely different monster to tackle when that comes, sooo. And actually have happened. Just in a different one of Homura’s timelines.. there problem solved!

@@lucisal-xg3ho I will say...I think the novels reveal that robots can get their individual soul(Like Charlie) and Mimic did get agony from Edwin(and he already acted more than just AI, presumably because of "good remnant") Of course, it's closely tied to the AI(That's why Tiger Rock loves learning) but remnant could play a huge role in stuff that we do not know of yet(and it already probably played a role before when Glitchtrap "possessed" Vanessa and maybe GGY) But yeah, you can feel sadness for Vanessa because she's in a situation she cannot control(or can't bother trying to because of being too scared to do something) more than the current, maybe irredeemable, villain. I think Mimic does feel pain and emotions and stuff, but I guess we don't know the extent of how "human" these emotions are or how "human" he is himself.
