Hey Luke. I'm a 16 y/o male in Eastern NC and I've started watching your videos a lot recently. I have to say, I love your channel. Your "dinner stories" are great. It amazes me how you stay so happy and lively, even if you didn't have the best trip. These videos have inspired me to go out and start backpacking more. I went to africa this past summer and ever since I got back, life seems boring. I miss the adventure and I miss the travel. Your videos really show me that camping is a good way to get that travel thrill. Thank you so much! -Nick

Luke, this is one of my favorites. I do appreciate all the time money and effort you put into these videos. I am also entertained by your viewers comments, "Use the poles, Luke, Use the poles" had me rolling. Thanks again for teaching me(us) how to go backpacking.

WOW another great video. I enjoy and learn from all your videos but I must admit that I really love the overnights the most. Although without the reviews I would not have learned about which gear to purchase except through trial and error which can be very costly. I think I have watched most of your videos on KZbin so now I scroll through and watch again. Anytime I am getting ready to make a purchase of something costly I will watch your videos about those items many times so that I know all the pros and cons. So once again Luke I just want to say Thank You for making great educational and informative and entertaining videos.

Hi Luke, just came across your channel and I really like it, gear reviews and a simple upbeat take on Bushcraft, I love your attitude- you're not trying to be a doomist military prepper which is great. Both you and MCQ Bushcraft have convinced me to start filming some of my own Aussie adventures.Couldn't peel the bark off a tree like that without spiders or ants running out everywhere though haha. Keep it up mate, I look forward to checking out your other videos. Cheers.

Love your vids Luke. There's nothing like the great outdoors. I'm planning some one nighters just using a bivvy and a wool blanket. It never gets too cold here in the UK anymore. We don't get the really hard Winters we used to get years ago, so I should be OK.

Aquaquest Defender 10x10 tarp, one of those OD green mylar blankets, Klymit Static V Recon insulated pad, and Snugpak Basecamp Ops pillow round out my sleep/shelter system. Good old days Luke! Was waiting for good snow adventures for this winter. But I guess lone wolf Mt. didn't receive much this year. So I thought of checking out your older videos. You look so young. Glad I checked this video. I can definitely see the huge difference from then and now in all technical aspects. But what remains the same is your style. 😄 Just more experienced now. If you do see this comment can you please make a video on the camera equipment you used over the years. That would be interesting 🤔

I may be wrong, but I remember watching a youtube vid where a guy was talking about the Tyvek footprint...he explained that you can put the new Tyvek into the washing machine (on gentle cycle, with NO soap) and when it comes out, it is still waterproof, BUT, it is no longer "crunchy"....its softer, more pliable...so when you sleep on it, it doesn't make noise, etc.. Here's an example of the "washed" version: Bak Pack: Groundsheets and Footprints, TYVEK vs. Tarp

I know this video is 7 years and I literally just watched it today. So the gortex boots and gear are most effective when your body is already heated up. So do some jumping jacks or run in place for a few minutes and then put boots on. What happens is the gortex traps the heat in and keeps you warm. If you just throw the boots on when your body is not warmed up it has no heat to keep your feet warm.
