Today I am covering the full story of one of the most interesting characters in Power Rangers history, Astronema. The series villain from Power Rangers In Space. She of course later goes on to become the Pink Lost Galaxy Ranger. Really hope you enjoy this one!

Karone was one of the most compelling villainesses ever. The internal conflict within her psyche and atrocious acts she commited as Astronema but her willingness to atone for the evil she did makes her one of the best engaging characters of PR ever. She deserved to be the 2nd Galaxy Pink Ranger because her heart was always pure but just corrupted by evil not of her fault.

As much as I like Kendrix, I would've loved even more if Karone had appear earlier in Lost Galaxy and had her inner conflict of being a Ranger while dealing with all the things she dead as Astronema be the center of her story, constantly questioning if she's worthy of the Pink Quasar Saber.

"I love being a Power Ranger", that simple line that she says during the Legendary Battle (I think it's in the extended version) sums her up perfectly. Always loved the development of her character, from one of the most powerful villainess of all time to arguably being the one that adapted the most quickly to being a Power Ranger.

The thing is if Astronema did killed Dark Spector then that means the entirety of the United Alliance of Evil (Rita and Lord Zedd, Master Vile, Count Dregon, Divatox, Elgar, Porto, Rygog, Darkonda, the Machine Empire, General Havoc, Rito, Goldar, Scorpina, Lokar, etc.) now serve her so that was a huge ambition for her.

actually a popular fan theory is that when Zordon was destroyed his good energy is what revived and restored Karone. They probably just had it take some time to kick in for dramatic affects

Astronema is also one of my favourite characters. She was one of the few main villains to engage the power rangers in direct combat, which shows how capable she was as a fighter and her powers.

Karone turned evil again, because she went to Dart Fortress to stop an asteroid from hitting earth. She disguise herself as Astronema, however, she wouldn't have turned evil, if she and Andros morphed to try to stop the asteroid. Andros would've defend his Karone, and him and Karone would've had the chance to leave.

I recall there was a Power Rangers comic where Karone willingly submits herself to be judged by the intergalactic court where everyone including Doggie Cruger who were victims of her atrocities as Astronema spoke against her, and judge her guilty which she would have accepted it. Unfortunately, Andros and his friends intervened and tried to defend her before the court. They used a fake Astromena construct to appear and claim she split away from Karone when the Z-Wave hit her and all the Power Rangers villains before attacking everyone and get "destroyed" by the security forces, absolving Karone. Karone was not happy when she found out.

I think the reason why In Space was so good because i felt like they had nothing to lose and was fighting to stay on the Air. at this point Power rangers was losing momentum, and cancellation was a reality cause they truly thought they were getting canceled. they wanted to go out with a bang and boy they did. even now in 2022 in space for me is the best season it was almost perfect. the story of Andros and Astromena is heart breaking the emotions that they took you on he found his sister only to lose her again to evil to having to battling her and ultimately seeing her end at the hands of her own weapon. to have her revive and they can finally be a family. the only other power ranger to have this much character development i think is Cassie in Jungle Fury.

Star Wars influence, but probably the X Files also and Mulder's quest for Samantha. Only difference is, Andros found his sister live and well. Karone's story is the most important and developed one, af all Power Rangers that went from bad to good, like Thomy and Kat. It was interesting seeing her dealing with identity crises and guilt after she was no longer Astronema. Also seeing her fight against Trakeena, no more like a Buffy because she lost her Astronema powers that enhanced her strength and fighting.

Astronema and Gamora of the MCU are practically the same character from a writing perspective. These are some similarities both have in common; *They were kidnapped as kids and raised to be ruthless hunters by villains (Darkonda,Thanos) *The villains (Ecliptor,Thanos) act as fatherly figures. *They both come from conquered worlds. *They both have an antagonistic relationship with a sibling (Andros,Nebula). *They eventually become allies with those siblings. *They turn from the side of evil and join a team of galactic heroes (Galaxy rangers,Guardians of the Galaxy). *They both die in the finales; only to come back to life in some way.

PR in Space is the best PR. it has the quirks and style of the original, a solid story, builds on the original timeline, etc. Other series all feel very "alternative universe" to me, and those types of things never rank as high for me, I am a sucker for a built in history and story sequence. Ecliptor is one of my favorite PR characters also.

I like how the Boom continuity made Astronoma responsible for the Kruger-Grumm conflict. Helps tie the events of Space/Lost Galaxy to SPD in a way that feels more natural than anything the TV show has done thus far.

I resonated with Karone’s story because it reminds me of the Force Captain Adora/ She-Ra story arc. Not a coincidence I’m sure being that Saban/Levi were part of that incredible series as well- I loved seeing a live action play out and it definitely made for a great character arc

Both yet neither. I love the idea that both Karone and Astonama could exist at the same time like in the Psycho Path. And if Boom ever flushes that story out more, they should use Psycho Green as the main villain and force both In Space and Psycho rangers to have to work together to defeat him and save Karone's life.

I like that she was a bad guy who was originally good and turned good again and then for Power Rangers Lost Galaxy Karone had the opportunity to make up for her wrongs by being the Pink Ranger if that's not a dope Redemption storyline I don't know what is.

I'm not sure if this is canon but it is more head canon for me is when she was installed with bionic parts to shut off her emotions, I think it backfired on Dark Spector cause she held no loyalty to anyone and ultimately became her reason for trying to drain him with the psycho rangers.

She is the most iconic villain in all of Power Rangers. Brought us the Psycho Rangers and literally came close to taking over the entire universe. I love how she actually fought the Rangers herself. Her weapon was awesome, her base was awesome, her main minions were awesome. She will never be outdone. I wish she became evil again and takes over another PR series!!!

When she first turned good during In Space, I liked her better as Astronama. But then Lost Galaxy put her back in tight leather rather than that terrible jumpsuit, so I got to like Karone just as much. I do like her mannerisms as Astronama though... "That was impressive. DESTORY THEM!"

The bad wigs notwithstanding, Astronema was my fav PR villain. Aside from being cute & a powerful fighter, Astronema's story arc is what made her my fav. While Karone's ok, I prefer Astronema, but only when she's a "reluctant villain" & not the cheesy "big boss" like Rita or Zed (who would've been more interesting if they had a story arc exploring their origins & showing them actually battling Rangers).

@@pa5666 So true. What made it worse was the constant switching from 1 bad wig to the next. They should've just kept Astronema in either the dark blue or the curly blonde wig, so we could get used to a single look (like Rita), instead of making her "A-Wig-A-Ma". 😂 She was an interesting character & probably the "villain" that they spent the most time on developing & exploring her past. I just wished they did the same for villains like: Rita, Zed, Goldar, Scorpina, Darkonda, & Ecliptor (who were the most interesting to me). .

The storyline is so unique and the character development is so amazing especially Andros, karone and Zhane....In space really proved that Power rangers is not just a kids show but something more than that.... If you think about it if Karone wasn't kidnapped she wouldn't become Astromena. Also if Karone wasn't kidnapped would Andros have become Red Space ranger?

Now the real question is how did Andros and Zhane got their powers? Zordon did left Earth at the beginning of Turbo, my guess is Zordon either recruit them and gave the Space powers to them or Eltar the place Zordon is going was the location where Andros and Zhane had their powers since it was explain in PRiS that Zhane and Andros did become Power Rangers for several years, that means around the time Tommy and the other guys were Power Rangers on Earth, Zhane and Andros are probably in Space fighting other evil space army.

Yes. After Andros, Zhane, and Karone's home planet got attacked. Zordon made Andros and Zhane power rangers. However, if Karone wasn't kidnapped she would become Zordon would've made Karone a Power Ranger too.

Zhane, Andros, and Karone's home planet got attacked, that's why Zordon gave Adros and Zhane Ranger Powers. However, if Karone didn't get kidnapped Zordon would've gave her ranger powers too. Andros, Zhane, and Karone would be Rangers(Andros as the Red In Space, Zhane as the Silver In Space, and Karone as the Purple In Space Ranger).

Honestly i think Karone should of been the pink ranger from the start of lost galaxy instead of Kendrix imo anyway because i thought Kendrix character was a bit boring like she was just there

@@chrisanders713 Originally the substitute pink ranger after Kendrix's death was suppose to be Cassie but Patricia Ja Lee refuse to take the role so Saban had to go to plan B which is Karone.
