The B29 is part of a quest, and you find Thump Thump when clearing out the ants in the generator room. To be honest, Thump Thump is sub-par compared to the Mercenary's Grenade Rifle. Thump Thump has a slightly lower DPS and can't have the long barrel mod attached. With MGR, you can effectively become a sniper with a grenade launcher.

The B-29-100-BW Superfortess, which was later converted into an F-13 recon aircraft (F standing for photo), does exist at Lake Mead. The final flight of #45-21847 completed an altitude run of 30,000 feet. They descended the aircraft to 300 feet above Lake Mead. Because the sun was reflected off of the surface of the lake, the pilot had a hard time seeing the surface of the lake, and the plane slowly descended to 100 feet until it hit the lake at 250 mph. The plane then bounced back up to 250 feet, and then skidded across the water. The crew bailed from the aircraft using life rafts, and watched as the plane sunk to the bottom of the lake.

Eh, Bethesda never will it seems. Because of them, they forced the title "Prey" on a completely different game than the original Prey even when Arkane Studios clearly made a fantastic System Shock 3.0 game and would've probably went with any game. But no, because of politicking, Bethesda made sure there was controversy where there needn't be and made sure it was the fault of one good game that another game is now permanently ruined in it's name brand and potential for future works. Fuck Bethesda. I hope we just get Sawyer working with inExile on a few quests to create the new Wasteland 3 because Bethesda is borderline as shady as EA at this point. They wouldn't want Obsidian to "outshine" their former product with their own engine already made for Obsidian to use and write a better story with.

In my play through, I have passed the Boomer barrage but the next time I crossed the field, they still fire their artillery. But they fired at the other way. I went to see who they were firing. Turns out they were firing at the Mini Boomers who were walking towards the airfield. The kids walked calmly under the barrage of the artillery.

You missed the incredibly detailed and beautiful cavern in Lake Mead. I have no idea what purpose it serves or why it was created but it's a real find. It's pretty big for an Easter egg. Maybe it was going to be used as part of a cut quest or maybe a Dev made it just because they could. It is well worth a visit though.
