I felt the same way. Maybe my expectations were to high compared to the silent patient 😢

Totally! That was an all star thriller so naturally our expectations are super high! I did rate The Maidens 5 stars though, have you read that one??

I just finished it and I’m not sure what my thoughts are. I really enjoyed my time reading it but I felt like the end was a cluster fuck 😅 I think it is a good bingeable summer read but definitely prefer his others… I think??

That's exactly how I felt! Feels like a great summertime beach read but def not my fave of his!

The Silent Patient is the book that got me into reading thrillers. There hasn't been a thriller book since then that has hit the same way.

I really do agree. Closest ones for me have been His and Hers by Alice Feeney, and The Last House on Needless Street by Catorina Ward. The latter is very vivid and disturbing though so just a heads up if you choose to read it!

I was also underwhelmed. The Silent Patient had my jaw on the floor with its twist and how masterfully the author led up to it. Such a satisfying pay-off!! I wasn’t a huge fan of The Maidens and guessed the ending. I did like this one slightly more, but I was still underwhelmed. ‼️ ***SPOILER ALERT*** ‼️ for the rest of the comment… The “bad guy” in The Fury struck me as sooo similar to Theo from Silent Patient. I almost expected “the twist” at the end to be that this was some sort of Theo backstory that happened before TSP 😅. I started off really liking the writing style, but it started to sound more and more like this other character. (Also, I feel like this therapist, Mariana, needs to quit her practice 😂, since all her patients end up murdering or attempting to murder people 😅) Thank you for sharing this review! I really enjoyed watching it and hearing your opinion.

Thank you so much for watching!!💕 It is SO hard to follow up with another awesome thriller after coming out with an amazing one like The Silent Patient! I agree, what a satisfying pay-off that book had! Your Mariana comment had me rolling 🤣 I wonder if his next book will have an Easter Egg like that too!
