Dumping Ballard would and should be the starting point
@watcherofthewest859710 күн бұрын
We are awful. Ballard is 5 years over due for a firing. Problem even with firing everyone and starting from square one is Jim Irsay and his daughter, who wears a headset on game days, will still be running this team.

#1 I vote for. Several players need to go. Players are paid to perform and work as a team. They don’t!!!!!

Me personally, I been saying get rid of Ballard for years and got so much shit for it, now some fans are finally starting to see through the bullshit. I’m tired of watching other teams get better while we “stand pat”. We haven’t won’t jack shit and at some point change is needed cause the idiots we have in the front office continue to do the same shit over and over

If you don't do option 1 or 2, you have to sit both Ballard and AR down and say this is it. This is your last chance to show significant progress, or you are gone. With Ballard, it's the playoffs. With AR, it's massive improvements in all part of his game. He cannot be the worst passing starting QB by a long shot again next year. Outside of that, some of these team captains need to go. They have to find some real leadership for this team. We don't have it.

Lots of draft misses, some surprises in late picks. Under utilizes F.A. But, on the bright side the Colts always have a ton of cap!😅

I'm ready to blow it all up. Jimbo needs to let his daughters start calling the shots. Fire Ballard, Steichen, and Bradley. Cut loose all the contract baggage and just come to terms with being a bad team for a few years while a new GM rebuilds. Don't saddle the new guy with old baggage.They need to get a Ted Lasso type (joke obviously) in there and find out where the culture rot is within this locker room and be sure that gets purged.

A big failure of Ballard was allowing our division rival to draft Stroud who was easily the best QB in that draft by not trying to trade up with Chicago

Do we know that we did not make the attempt? I was banging the table coming up with potential packages to offer before Carolina jumped over us.

I really don't believe the colts would have drafted stroud with the first overall pick. It's easy to say that now but Bryce young was pretty clear cut the consensus #1 pick

Hey Derek and Cody! Y'all know I've been a fan since the team arrived in Indpls. Thanks to Dad I became a die hard fan. I'm now numb to the team fr. Ballard's plan went to crap when Luck pulled the plug. He is the reason for this mediocrity. Go Colts

I saw an article on SI listing possible GM replacements. One listed was Alec Halaby who is the Assistant GM for the Eagles. He has had interviews with other teams. He has been with the Eagles organization for 14 years which overlaps Steichen been with the Eagles.

You guys are wrong when saying that Tony Glass needs a better supporting cast. The OL is more than decent, the WRs are decent. TEs are not, but are rarely utilized/featured by Steichen. Glass has a supposedly good mind calling the plays and coaching him. Stop with the cheerleading. AR is one of the mistakes made by Ballard, along with the defense and Bradley. Make no mistake about it.

*SORRY 4 long comment* What's REALLY KRAZY about the JT FUMBLE...... That's been the Colts for the last 4-5 season. THEY GET SO CLOSE to being winners then they drop the ball @the goal line. (I've been a Colts fan since 05 I feel like Pat I've seen us be winners we USED TO LOOK @10 win teams and say "they can't survive against us) I want that feeling back so bad 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️

Why would you ever give Ballard another season. Hes clearly proven he won’t make the moves to support coach or QB.
@Willjanas718910 күн бұрын
Gonna sound like a madden franchise but this is how I'll do it if the pieces align. - fire steichan and hire either vrabel or flores. If daboll gets fired hire him as oc to help ar grow. Fire Bradley and hire Salah. - trade jt to the raiders for their 2nd and Michael mayer. - trade Nelson and buckner for picks mainly for cap relief. - in free agency sign Higgins, najee harris, a guard to fill in for Nelson and then sprinkle in cheap but good free agents. - draft option 1 if we lose out and he's available Mason Graham, from the raiders omarion Hampton and then fannin Option 2 trade back accumulate picks then draft Warren with the first pick - fire Ballard it's just time for him to go

Ballard is basically. 500, which is obviously the league average so, it's basically a coin flip on whether a new GM improves things.

Look, im totally fed up with Ballard & most the coaching staff and players... but i guess im willing to ride it out one more year? Especially when it comes to AR & Steichan. Doesnt really seem like ballard will be fired anyways, Irsay loves the guy for some reason.
@OwenStephens12310 күн бұрын
One more year of this squad will probably happen. All three of steich, ar, and Ballard, are under some form of contract, until 2027, (ar option) so chances are we run it back until next year then go from there

@nariousdixon93310 күн бұрын
Tough decisions have to be made in order for this team to progress. They cannot have the same mindset as last year. Just running it back has already failed. Thats the biggest problem with keeping Ballard. The likelihood of changes being made greatly diminishes if he is retained.
@brandonlampe132310 күн бұрын
It is a very weird spot to be in. Very rarely does only replacing the GM in the organization works out unless your HC and QB are hall of famers or MVP's. I will say there has been some evidence with him being more aggressive in the offseason just nothing gets done. Next year should be about maximizing AR to truly evaluate him. In the advanced metrics in PFF he has been solid since the benching, but it's always something every week with his weapons. I hate having to pay a subscription to all 22 to evaluate a QB because his weapons either run the wrong route, run a poorly executed route, and DROPS. The Chris Ballard guys are on pace to have the highest drop rate since 2015. You just need to bring in a GM that is sold on giving AR a chance to succeed and then if it does not work out blow it up and move on.

You think the fans are upset now?Just imagine a 3 year rebuild.They won't be no.Fans left be like three people that still understand football and What it takes to fully rebuild a team and how long it would take. lol There's a reason why The colts have not had a full rebuild like ever.
@vincentcamaioni84110 күн бұрын
So ordinarily, I would say I would be for option number three. But I really think you have to go with that middle ground. Because I think Cody touched on it in one of his other videos. You need to get Ballard out of there because fans will start checking out if he’s not gone this off-season and you can’t afford to let that happen if you are an owner. So I’m all for the middle ground where you get Chris Ballard out of there and you give him the choice to stick with Richardson and Shane but he’s not tied to them
@cobytaylor49839 күн бұрын
Knowing the range the colts will probably be drafting from, Does a new GM even take the Job if they dont have some type of belief in AR? I dont think they do
@MyownCEO-t2p10 күн бұрын
A lot of the media is saying clean house they all have to go. How much would that set us back? Why would we do that I agree something needs to change. What.. idk but just starting completely over will be waiting another 4+ years to make the playoffs . AR stays coach should probably be safe Ballard… I can’t have his back anymore but if he gets another year I don’t think it’s the worst thing

@rondesantis861810 күн бұрын
I'm leaning to towards the 1st scenario. I would keep Richardson, but I would look for another QB as well who can step in and play at the NFL level. If they stink next year, so what? They'll be in a prime spot to pick a good QB high in the draft. We're already full of questions without many answers about this team. We've seen the same scenario carried out for 8 years. Ballard will stubbornly stick to his process that guarantees mediocrity. Steichen has failed to develop AR, and has lost the locker room. The team is soft, lacks focus and is undisciplined. It's dysfunctional. The play calling has been horrible, and Steichen can't seem to develop an offense that best utilizes the talent he has. Especially with AR at QB. Richardson lacks fundamentals. His footwork is terrible, as is his throwing motion. Great talent doesn't insure success in the NFL. We may hope that Steichen and Ballard, and even Richardson can turn it around, but does anyone truly believe they will? Why not cut bait rather than prolong the inevitable? By standing pat, we're only adding another year to the rebuild. IMHO.
