The future of AI in schools with John Hattie, Dylan Wiliam, Arran Hamilton

I’m currently conducting action research of the impact of AI on the critical thinking skills of students, and this podcast has been completely eye-opening and mind-blowing in that I love how researchers like John, Dylan and Arran are able to see to issues that haven’t risen yet and appreciate a teachers sentiment of needing TIME to absorb everything. We are already BEHIND in “hopping” on the AI bandwagon since most of us teachers are struggling to complete curriculum by the end of each term, find time to conduct formatives, design differentiated activities and so on, but AI in education has come at us so fast, I’m afraid so many fear that they may have missed it. Love how these discussions bring light to the reality of the situation!

Very interesting thoughts. I'm an elementary school teacher and I only learned about chatgpt a few months ago. While I often love things that are new, I noticed over the years of working in education that a lot of teachers don't seem to like it when there's change. Hence why I love this talk so much. I hope people will take the advice given here and try it out so we do not fall behind. 🙂

Magic school AI is already putting in some of the guardrails spoken about here. The tools for students are fantastic. FERPA and COPPA compliant and easily monitored by teachers.
