It's not "painted" multiple whites, on real aircraft, the entire outer shell is made out of individual panels, which makes it easier to repair spots that have been hit without replacing huge sections of metal (that's why they're called panel lines). Older parts retain all the grease, wear, and sunbleaching making them look darker or off-color, while new parts are smooth, clean and lighter.

Hey Mecha! So I’ve recently been experimenting with Gundam LED’s and I’ve found if you pull the metal piece out near the “on and off” switch (you can remove the plastic covering above it) with some tweezers, you can completely fix the Bandai LED flickering issue. I’ve done this with four green LEDs so far, and they all work so much better now! Hope this helps!

I built this kit recently, 2 weeks ago, was my first Gunpla build since 2013 (I had a burnout thanks to the FA Unicorn Ver.Ka), and was my first RX-78-2 Gundam. Would've gotten the Origins one instead but it slipped my mind during purchase. I really REALLY enjoyed this build, it was real fun and very comforting. I enjoyed doing the panel lines, I even enjoyed applying the STICKERS, where as I couldn't do it on the Unicorn cuz that decal sheet gave me anxiety. I have a few small gripes with this kit; the shield slider being WAY too loose yet not detrimental overall, the beam saber handles don't hold well in the back pack as one of the pegs is too small for he 3.0 slots on the handles so I am using one of the 2.0 saber handles instead, the hands were somewhat frustrating to work with the first time making them pop off as I was posing and getting them into position but they hold on well overall. Though my biggest complaint is that shoulder armor. It slots into the arm peg but the connection feels far too shallow, causing them the come loose far too often. I'm not sure if I assembled it wrong, but it didn't look like there was any room for confusion in the instructions, so it is what it is. Overall a solid kit and a fun build, with some minor problems that seem to vary from person to person.

I think the offhand comment about it being like a big real grade is pretty apt, I built this as the third kit I ever built, and the second was an rg char zaku. Both of these are now nothing but dust because they are so frail the slightest breeze will snap the small pieces in half if you don't know what you're doing. Modern mgs and rgs are made of stronger stuff than the older ones and can take a beating but the early things I don't even have out on display because even if they weren't broken in half, they couldn't stand up if you glued them down.

This was my first MG kit. I had an absolute blast building it and was really impressed with the final product. There’s so many things I deeply love about this kit. I’ve since built the Origin version and I gotta say it’s the better choice all around. The torso connection on the 3.0 is nowhere near as sturdy as the Origin and the waist armor plates are floppy on the 3.0 whereas on the Origin they’re held in place firmly by the joint. Over all the Origin just feels better to handle. You lose out on a core fighter but you gain an extra rifle, a shoulder cannon and some basic blast effects. I built the 3.0 really early into my Gundam journey. Like, way too early to get the most out of the kit. I don't think the 3.0 label was meant to usher in a new tier of MG kits. The RX-78-2 saw a lot of iterations- the classic MG that was barely a HG, the 1.5 which featured pretty much an entire new set of runners but reused the scrawny arms from the 1.0 kit (the 1.5 borrowed most of its cues from the classic PG). It became so popular to modify that 1.5 kit but using the RX-79 [G] arms that the 2.0 eventually hit which I *think* was basically the 1.5 with redesigned arms. There may have even been a 2.5 I can't remember. So in essence the 3.0 moniker was simply the next in line and not meant to be the start of a new sub-series of MGs, I don't imagine anyway.

Having built both they are incredibly different. The RG is super basic with the exception of the impressive engineering on the pre-molded inner frame. Color separation is great but compared to most RG of the time it's not quite as fancy. The ver. ka is an absolute marvel of mechanical engineering on damn near every front. Color and parts separation that trumps most current RG kits and an inner frame on par with a few PG kits, comparing this beauty to the RG is an absolute disservice.

I’ve always had trouble with those gorillas hands. They not only look too big, individual fingers have the tendency to pop out. And because the plastic used for the hands is quite soft, the mini sockets for the mini ball joints can easily become warped and the fingers won’t fit well anymore. You also can’t really close the hands into fists. Cleaning them up is a thoroughly joyless exercise, and they are fiddly to use when you’re trying to fit anything other than the beam sabres on them. It won’t be a stretch to say that those hands can be easily be deal breakers for some. Just to add, I eventually bought Bandai’s federation 1/100 fixed posed hands as replacement. They don’t hold the weapon quite well, but at least they don’t look terrible and you won’t need to worry about losing a digit here and there

The elbows were difficult but the joint is really cool. My issue with this otherwise beautiful kit was the shoulder area, from the upper arm's small moving parts, to the moving armor in the main body at the shoulder joint, and the actual way you attach the shoulder armor (which is difficult as the body is hollow and it's not keyed so it can pop off when moving the arm so have fun trying to resink the shoulder armor back into a snug position). Still a 100% recommend for me, as the build was a marvel of detail and color separation.

Building this now. I've built a lot of kits, but nothing has given me the kind of trouble this kit has. That elbow is a real nightmare, I went through all that work only for mine to not bend at one of the joints. I have no idea how I managed to do that, but the way the arm is put together means you have to disassemble it ENTIRELY to find out what you did wrong. It's awful.

3.0 mastergrade, it's like the hotfix for a game with quality content. as the early real grade Syndrome

I have this kit. It was actually my first gunpla I built. I really enjoyed the build, but the only thing that drives me crazy is the shoulder armor. Every time I move the arm around the shoulder armor becomes loose. So, I have to take the arm off, put that piece back in the socket, and then re attach the arm.

I know this is an older video but is that the same v-fin as the origins?? Not asking because my origin vfin is missing and I can’t find any in my local shops but I see plenty of 3.0s

Only issue I've found is that I can't seem to get both the LED unit and the core fighter to fit at the same time. It seems to be one or the other

I think because not every MG models got 2.0 version. And some 2.0 version is still good for nowadays. Though, I hope latest MG will follow 3.0

Regarding waterslides: Yes, there are some off brand ones as well as the official ones I believe.

Yeah, I highly recommend Delpi Decals, they're better than Bandai's own IMO.
@jegt33823 жыл бұрын
@@alastormedial also use those. Bandai's water slides are thick, you'll need mark fit on them else they'd look like peel on stickers. Delpi ones are thin and only needs water. Once the kit is coated, the decals look as flat as the surface it's on.

Be careful when you cut it from the runners 2 pieces of mine broke from the arm section, preferably use a one sided nipper to avoid that
