There's no dual citizenship allowed. In fact, most Asian countries do not allow. Ask any Singaporean. If you have a son under 18 and living overseas for studies, you need to deposit at least 50K with the Singapore government to guarantee that he returns to serve the National Service. It's compulsory. If he chooses not to return to serve the army, 50K will be confiscated and his Singapore citizenship will be cancelled. That's not the end of the story. If he ever set foot in Singapore, he will be arrested and put in jail maybe for 3 months and he becomes a "free" man.
