I grew up in Berlin when it was divided - there, telling on myself. Returning after so many years was shocking. The filth, the graffiti, the rundownedness of it. Still, I thought the Berlin airport beats US airports by a mile. But compared to China's airports, Berlin's no contest. Happy travels and season's greetings to you and your from Szczecin, Poland, AKA Berlin-lite.

Having lived for many years in Berlin and also a frequent traveller to China, I feel you! Everytime I return from China, this is what I feel too! And yes, the airport in Berlin is a joke. BTW: the pink pipes are there because of construction work. Berlin is built on wet land and when you build a new building, you have to pump a lot of ground water out. This is transported away using the pink pipes. So they are not permanent 🙂.

Berlin is said to be the worst city in Germany. The weather is like that of Chongqing, Chengdu, Wuhan and Changsha along the Yangtze River. In winter, it is gloomy, humid and cold. In fact, in these established developed countries, I can understand that their infrastructure is small, old, and lacking in functionality because they have been built for a long time, but I cannot understand that these public facilities seem to lack maintenance.

It is true that living in Europe has many inconveniences compared with China. For example, bathroom charges, shops close early, breakfast places are rare, shopping malls are far from home, slow and inefficient, and so on. USA here. Our famous restaurants (such as McDonalds) can be found all over the world so, don't come here for the food. Come to America to see architecture: colorful tent cities filled with fentanyl addicts. Another American attraction is our fine, thick, high quality toilet paper. You will first experience that at most of our international airports. Americans value toilet paper so much that in 2020 they stood in long lines to hoard toilet paper, even though that meant no toilet paper for others. Some of us have bidet seats (imported from China) so we didn't worry. In summary: America. fine dining (McDonalds), tent cities, toilet paper, and drugs.

The heartland of Europe has been in a steady decline for the odd five decades that I have lived there. There have been ups and downs, but the overall trend has been down. As for Germany; Living on the Dutch side of the border it is shocking how far Germany has fallen behind and how quickly things have been deteriorating in the past few years. Germany has always been a decade behind my Netherlands when it comes to socio-economic changes so it is fair to say that the worst is yet to come.
@user-1nu4gq2h
@user-1nu4gq2h 11 ай бұрын
The good days of the Netherlands will not last long. China stopped building lithography machines and instead built lithography factories to mass-produce chips. Once the annual profits of more than 100 billion US dollars were captured by China, the Netherlands quickly declined. Only those in Northern Europe had fewer people. The vast resource countries can barely support it, but the biggest mistake the Nordics made was to introduce NATO. This US-led military organization will soon be destroyed and disintegrated by the next large-scale Middle East war and the Russia-Ukraine war, and the GDP of the United States during the epidemic They all have negative growth, but their GDP is still increasing every year. Their model of increasing GDP by constantly printing money will soon collapse. The resulting inflation and material shortages will drive up the prices of all commodities and cause countries to go bankrupt. This is Europe. The future of a small country, and the US debt has reached an astonishing US$34 trillion, which is higher than its GDP of US$8 trillion. The output of two wars requires at least US$50 trillion. Now there is no fast war, only slow consumption until the United States collapses around the world. Reorganization.

People from Berlin avoid using BER airport between the 15th December - 10th January and between 15th April - 15th October in every year. The 5 months that don't fall in the blackout periods mentioned above are ok if and only if your flight departs earlier than 11 am and if your flight arrives after 10 pm because that is when the wait for the bridge to the plane is less than 25 minutes and the wait for luggage is less than 90 minutes.

I have always appreciated that shops close at seven or eight in Germany and Austria. If I remember correctly in Austria they normally close at half past seven and in Germany at about eight. The reason I appreciate it is because this means people working in the shops can have decent working conditions. Now, when shops are closed for one and a half day every week, it means that the workers can definitely get one and a half day’s rest. If a country allows its stores to open every day, even though it can make up laws to allow rest for the workers, employers are more likely to abuse them, like in Italy (depending on the regions) many employers in the service industry force its stuff to work seven days a week despite the current regulations. In Austria and Germany, since the shops are closed on Sundays and Saturday afternoons, this is unlikely to happen. In China there is no protection for the workers, and I think it is normal for people to only take four days’ rest every month. The fact that shops are closed so early in Austria and Germany may be inconvenient to the consumers, but one must always think of the employees, because, apart from a sense of solidarity with other human beings, you never know if one day you will end up in the service industry yourself, and I would much prefer that this happens to me in Germany or Austria than in Italy or China. Also, even if in countries like Italy and China people in the service industry can eventually have the same amount of rest, they almost certainly won’t be able to spend their free time with their families, because they might have free days on Tuesday and Wednesday when their kids are at school. So all in all, I really think the Germanic model is the best.

so you mean in Germoney shop workers don't have shifts between the trading hours 8am-8pm, and outside these hours they have to do warehouse and stock-taking tasks. German GDP per capital is 3 times higher then chinese, it means german economy is 3 times better then chinese economy. Germany is one of main trade partners of China, without Germany and USA, chinese economy was nothing, zero. Chinese economy was builded by US and german money. 80% of all investitions in China comes from US and Germany. Problem with Germany are migrants. Large number of NON ASIMILATED people from Asia and Africa. 10-15 milions of 85 milion residents of Germany are not Germans. 60% of them are not from Europe. Try to go to 100% german towns and you will feel the diference between very very poor rural China and rich rural Germany. China is ultra modern only in big cities.
