Well gun control isnt the answer, look at our society, if everything is acceptable you're going to have people taking things and looking at them from a prospective where they think that murder, genocide, suicide and other violent things of that nature are what we need to fix things in society, everyone sees the world as broken of course your going to have people who view other people as subhuman and want to enact violence against people that they personally blame, and when that happens that group of undesirables grows infinitely larger until even the kind old lady next door is lumped in so maybe it's not guns or mental illness, maybe it's the way we live and the way the world is run

@@harpsdesire4200 Its complicated. I live in a small rural fishing village and gun ownership is not uncommon for hunting. In cities its far less common but any person can get a gun license if they have gone trough license requirements and education (and obviously been screened for criminal history and mental health). Most families would not want a gun due to the risks of having one and guns are expensive and getting your license aint free either. Since the crime rate is low people dont really feel any need, I guess. But owning a shotgun for hunting and the like is not something anyone reacts to that I have heard. Also note that criminals avoid guns. If a gun is involved in a crime the chances you will get caught doubles as they throw much more on the investigation. Generally people are not out in the streets for or against guns.

If I look at the population numbers everyone is a minority in the US now. "Minority" is a statistical term. I have found that Americans often refer to non-white as minority but that would be incorrect as non-white is not a race, just as white and black are not races either, nor specific enough to denote a cultural type. Infact, the term "race" is rather incorrect as well. Racial science is pretty much irrelevant since all humans can breed with other "races". I guess we could use the term sub-race. Which means either you are an absolute moron since you completely ignored (or didn’t comprehend the context) or you are just arguing in bad faith. By the way, Thomas Jefferson recommended that we re-write the constitution every 20 years (or every generation) because he believed one generation could not speak for the next. According to Jefferson we should have shredded the constitution and re-rewritten it over 220 years ago. Honestly, I don’t think our founding fathers imagined a world where teenagers go around mass killing elementary school kids in school. Nor, do I think they would stand by and just let it happen because “tHe RiGhT t0 BeAR aRmS sHaLL noT bE iNfRiNgEd.” At some point reason has to enter the equation.

@ad636051

@@linusmlgtips2123 That's incorrect because people also had 8 shot revolvers in the mid 16th century in Europe. In the mid 18th century before the constitution was written people had 10 shot harmonica guns and we also had repeating shot firearms such as the Kalthoff repeater that was released around 1630 with a magazine capacity ranging from (depending on the design) 5 to 30 rounds (some using this design had a 50 round magazine) which can shoot at a rate of up to 60 rounds per minute. There's also the Girandoni air rifle created in 1779 and used by the Australian army and also in the Lewis and Clark Expedition, technically this is not a firearm due to it being an air gun however it is just as lethal as a firearm within 120 yards, this air gun had a 22 round magazine that can be fired entirely within 20 seconds. Our founding fathers were well aware of multiple repeating shot firearms available at that time and would've explicitly stated single shot in the second amendment if they intended for it to apply exclusively to the musket.

It’s worth nothing that in the 1950s you could order a semiautomatic rifle from a catalog and have it shipped to your door. They had 25 to 30 round magazines and were just as effective as a modern ar15. No background check or anything, we didn’t have the problems with shootings that we do today. Something has changed since then and it isn’t the easy access to guns. Guns are harder to get today than they were then and we have more shootings. There doesn’t seem to be any interest in getting to the root cause, everyone has an agenda and they push that agenda over looking for real solutions. Here’s the problem that people don’t understand. When you have a mentally unstable person that gets their hands on a high capacity weapon of war, it gives them the confidence to go and commit these heinous crimes. Quoting Nikolas Cruz, the parkland shooter of 2018: “once you all feel the wrath of my AR, then you will know who I am”. Do you think these kids would have the confidence to storm a school with a revolver? No. Gun reform is not a recommendation, it needs to end.

18 to 20 year olds do vote and serve on jury's, but they can't buy cigarettes and they can't buy alcohol. Those were things that you could do in 2015 and 1984, respectively. So why exactly is raising the minimum age to 21 so bad. If it's because it goes against their constitutional right, then wouldn't the 18 age restriction be also? I'm not sure, but is there an age restriction in the 2nd amendment?
@Scortd
@Scortd 2 жыл бұрын
No, age isn't mentioned. The only thing the 2nd says is a person has the right to own a gun. Says nothing about the type of gun, age of person, or any regulation or restrictions being unabled to be applied. It mentions a well regulated militia which most 2A advocates arent part of and if you want to take every word at its most literal and unrestrictable form, shall not be infringed would mean you can't restrict felons, pychos, blind people, mentally unstable, children, or anyone in-between from owning a gun. Pretty sure that wasnt the ideal they had when they wrote the 2nd, so common since restrictions and mandatory training prior to purchase wouldn't be a violation of any one's rights.

Any gun law that ever passes will always only hurt the law abiding citizens, and not the criminals or a corrupt government. It's very important to always remember why the 2nd amendment was made to begin with...and that is for self defense against crime and a corrupt government. Take way semi and automatic weapons...Okay, well the criminals and the government will still have these weapons, and they'll always be better armed than the law abiding citizens.

then instead of giving the law abiding people guns to fight back. maybe try the other way around by removing those problems before these thing can happen. why does almost every country have a no gun law or strict gun law never or one in a blue moon mass shooting incident? those country too have crime and corrupt goverment and yet why is America suffering from frequent mass shooting?

Oh but it’s ok to send an 18 year to war that’s fine. Why don’t you place the blame where it belongs. On the killers feet! The school’s system for never upgrading their security and the poorly trained police officers. As officers we have to fight for training. So I bet it had been along time since they trained for active shooters.

Guns cannot be compared to tobacco. Everyone knows that gun are deadly. Use at your own risk. The knowledge of tobacco being deadly also was not know, and even when known, was hidden from users by tobacco companies. The main problem with tobacco is that not everyone who smokes get cancer. And the cancer usually doesn't show up some 30 years later, depending amount and duration smoke, methods of tobacco use, and differences in genetics. And often times, the people who smoke are so addicted that they would rather take the chance of whether they would contract cancer than to stop smoking. Guns on the other hand will inflict serious pain, damage, and most likely death very quickly. Still want to compared guns to tobacco?

Trading went smooth for me as I was able to raise over 11.4 BTC when I started at 1.5 BTC in just a few weeks implementing trades with signals and insights from Jeff Erno, I would advise y'all to trade your asset rather than hodl for a future you aren't sure about or hold it and risk losing all....I left his contacts in the comment below take care!

We need to pass laws saying that one *_must be 21_* in order to purchase a gun or to vote. Yes, I understand the lame "but we allow 18 year olds fight for our country" argument. Joining the military nowadays is done primarily for a job. And 18 to 21 year olds *_should be allowed_* to join the military, but not allowed into active combat zones until the age of 21. Most significant military jobs take 2+ years of training, and deployment workup time is usually a year plus. So realistically, an 18 year old can easily be in the military 3 years before being qualified to enter an active war zone. And to be truthful, only 10% of everyone who joins the military will ever find themselves in hot zone. Most are pushing paper, moving and managing supplies, etc.
