Kingsisles biggest mistake by far was using the earnings from wizard101 and pirate101 to create several mobile games that failed miserably. They lost millions from it. Thats prolly one of the reasons why they laid off more than half their staff in 2016.

The only reason my friends and I played this game was for low level pvp. It was a lot of fun and we had a decently sized community for it. Once low level pvp was stripped and removed we all stopped playing. It was hard to see that group leave. I'll never forgive Ratbeard.

​@brandonmoss9551 I just came back after about 5 plus years. But having a higher archmastery means you g.et the school pips earlier than others. I remember I had some archmastery at low level. Then, when a high level helps, first round I can't rat spin because their's is way higher.

@@brandonmoss9551 Archmastery works like shadow pips meaning you gain school pips based on others archmastery rating, therefore using higher than normal archmastery rating just equates to you only getting a school pip (important for farming/ using the new aoe's r1) instead of your entire team getting a school pip.

Another thing i wished kingsisle would do it make pack gear dyeable. Its just really annoying to spend crowns trying to get a item just to be limited to the default color. I know many games make exclusive clothing dyeable but make each item a different design you can roll for...Not sure how the community will take that but just being able to dye will be great.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. I can't wait for Wizard101 to shut down but not because I wish it it's worst, because the game will get better. The game will come back booming just like Toontown Rewritten did, Club Penguin Rewritten, Pirates Online Rewritten, etc. The devs won't be able to make a profit and therefore the paywall will be gone and they will genuinely want what's best for the game instead of focusing on profits. And believe it or not, a full reset on everyone's characters would be extremely healthy for the game. Lot of people would complain on Wizard101 but for a rewritten game it would be mandatory. The majority of complaints about the game are end game. If you start everyone on a blank slate you make everyone quest from level 1 again.

Honestly I want the opposite to happen. I hope the game gets wildly more successful so the can hire more devs again and focus on releasing content again. The mobile game plan failed miserably so I doubt gamigo would try and force that again. Especially when Wizard101 is already profitable as is. It would take a long time for private servers to get into a state to make content at the same cadence as even the current KI team. A lot of their issues come from how neutered the dev team is.

Ive played Wiz since 2012. My first account got muted for 10 years in 2016; they muted people for this long because they didnt expect the game to last another 10 years. I made a 2nd account and proceeded to max 2 wizards, and I haven't touched the game since I finished Novus about a week after its release. I've grown up with the game since I was 8. I am now 19. I've seen Kingsisle make so many mistakes. I even wanted to work for them, to help them, but I was to young lol. I got heavily involved in the wiz community making videos & Streaming but I never made a name for myself. I'm not happy with the direction of the game but I haven't given up on it, I have faith that over the next 6-8 years they will heavily improve the game in all aspects, but will definitely finish the story of it. I don't think they'll let it rot and die out, I'm sure for decades to come, the game will still be managed and taken care of, hopefully. I have a Theory that once Wizard101 is "completely done' they may make a 2nd version of it. Guess we'll see.

I remembered back in the day. I would've been about 9 or 10 (2009-2010) when i first found out about this game. I used to grind the ever living hell out of it. At the time I didn't understand how the memberships worked, all i knew was that i couldn't enter Firecat Alley and Cyclops Lane after a decently long grind. But for some reason, i used to just keep creating either a Death or Fire wizard and play rince and repeat like that for months. Being 23 now and understanding the damage microtransactions have. I just hate to see my childhood game that I used to love and adore be used as a market to essentially steal people's money in broad daylight. It's interesting to see such longtime veterans in this game who have stuck around since the early 2010s, but its even more interesting to see those same players get zero loyalty benefits from Kingsisle.

Great vid. I consider myself a casual and played back in 2013 when i was in elementary. I rejoined for the nostalgia, played the first arc and left off on Zafaria. I was captivated by pvp I had been watching ATS on live and other creator vods so my intention was to grind my characters but that became so tedious to do alone. I hadn't found any matches on a lvl 65 death, and my lvl 45 fire couldn't get into any games. I deleted the game and canceled my subscription right there.. Super disappointing they got rid of low lvl pvp

The neglected child. Thanks for offering to help. I don’t think i should remind players that pirate101 exists and bring their addiction back if kingsisle is going to do nothing. Their current focus is on wizard101 and it’s really slow progress on their end, even slower for pirate101. The difference with making videos about w101 is that people are addicted, they still play regardless of HATING the game for valid reasons. Players on pirate101 have no reason to hate the game other than for slow updates. Everyone that i met always loved p101 but most moved on as they aren’t edged as much as w101. My w101 videos are to convince people to move on :) The p101 playerbase are already ahead by moving on since their game is so neglected :)

Yep very good video. KI don't listen 100%. KI is like a broken clock, it's right twice per day. They know the vast majority of the player base hates the direction the game is heading. Will they listen? Not a chance. They will make more Raids, more challenge mode for the 0.1%. Frankly you have to wonder if the understand what fun means. They want us playing longer and not just here for a few months. So they put people off with insane grinds of boring content, then repeat over and over. The fact Wiz still has a community is because of the great work by pre Ratbeard devs. However more and more players are nearly done maxing multiple accounts, so there's nothing left to do. I've noticed 4 big creators including you left recently but they won't hear a single word. Even if I came up with "solutions" (for their job) or you or anyone they still won't pay attention. IF KI reads this remember PRIDE cometh before a fall and you devs are filled with pride. We have no new world for 20+ months. Your fall is coming and it will be the downfall of a 15 year old game, that could go on for another decade, but your pride, you know best when your customers tell you over and over NOOOOOOOOO!

i play every time i get a chance to play free subscription, and i can say that even without the insane elephant in the room of their underhanded tactics with spending IRL money, the game is still embarrassing to be compared to other MMOs. they've been saying they'll remaster the game, but it's been years and they still haven't completely remastered the first arc. they announced the game would go multiplat and that basically hasn't happened either. it's like they're afraid of it actually getting popular and reaching an even broader audience. the game is very fun and it has a fantastic story, but it's caked in old money making tactics, inconsistent graphics and other small things that would seem bearable if not the other major problems (banning caps lock, gold being essentially useless etc). it's like the parties at hand know their issues and know only the community they have developed for 16yrs can tolerate it, not the broader audience. they would have to be forced to do true upheaval under the roofs and it seems, they'd rather settle with what they have now and keep launching mobile games they know that are DOA to keep ignoring the real solution.

Ive been plqying since 2009 and watching the hard falls and slight rises theyve had over the years is so disheartening. I grew up with the game and still play it till this day. But in recent years, the cash grabbing has been so high and awful, it makes me so depressed and angry that their being so blunt about it and just casually glossing it over like "whoopies, sowwy community" and then proceed to do it time and time again. Specially those spend crown event. Spending 600k crowns or some insane amount in like 3 or 4 days for a moped mount? Absolutely blew my mind that they even had the idea for that. I understand companies need to make money to keep running but what you're doing is driving away people. Ive said for YEARS is to make arc 1 or at least up to the end of dragonspyre before you defeat malisatire to make it free. The first arc is so slow and time consuming [without help] that people get bored of it and stop playing. The game doesnt really get fun till like middle of zafaria to be honest.

i played the game as a beta tester, prior to its actual launch in 2009 and faithfully shoveled both time + money at them over the years. there were many red flags i picked up on , particularly when it came to the dev team and how they operated but ultimately decided to shrug it off because of how much i loved the game. well, i was just recently banned without rhyme or reason and despite my best efforts to appeal the ban and/or ask for a reason given, was ultimately ignored. keep in mind i was never sanctioned before, never muted or suspended and i never shared my account details. so while it is a pretty disappointing close to a couple years shy of 2 decades worth of time spent on the game, you come to realize that if it didn’t happen then it probably would’ve happened later. considering there have been many examples of this with other players in the past. thousands of hours sunk into the game and thousands of dollars later, i almost wish they banned me years ago. so my closure is i was ultimately spared from still basically being robbed by their predatory monetary models and overzealous and incompetent dev team. win win lol. anyway, cheers to 16 years 🎉

A note about pvp: we worked hard and long hours and spent crowns to acquire our gear and title of Warlord. Then they take away all our stats on the gear and left the shell . But they retired the the gear from shadow palace but it’s still functional and still wearable , so why didn’t they retire our gear the same way . we been playing the game since 2010 … I’m not a happy PVP Warlord enthusiast and will not play pvp again. I wish we kept our stats but couldn’t use them in pvp.

Love your channel and your honest delivery Tntosion. But I'm going to disagree a little, and I'm sure I'm in the minority. Been playing since 2009, and all my best game memories come from the hard dungeons, figuring them out, building player camaraderie, and the storyline buildup to those final boss fights. Flying thru dialog boxes to speed run a world blows my mind. If you want endless speed and ease you're in the wrong game. My main point of frustration in the game is nerfing all the boss fights, the endless "tinkering" of gear and spells, and the fact that the game throws whole new game mechanics at you with zero explanation and expects you to figure it out. The visual language of the card gambits is ATROCIOUS. Also, stop ruining the PVE experience by endlessly attempting to figure out PVP, which is only 5% OF THE PLAYER COMMUNITY. I was fine with the Novus pity system. 1.5 weeks of casual farming and I had full gear sets for all 7 wiz. WAAY better than Tartarus, Dragoon and Husk, which relied solely on RNG. If you speed run a world, then get all the gear in 2 days, what are you going to do for the next 12-18 months till the next update? Why play wiz if you have that little patience? Just my 2 cents.

I quit because of the paywall and repetition. I do not want to play a "strategy" game where you use the same 7 cards over and over again. They should have just focused on changing and building the core of the game to be more fun instead of just adding more worlds with no progress anywhere else. The game is too expensive for anyone who plays out of Usa and West EU. Indeed, %99 of the mmos are similar but the real difference is wiz101 is the most expensive one. I had played DDO online , Runescape and similar other titles in the past. I spent hundred of dollars in total if not thousands. Just to explore and kill time. My entire collection of Fun Single player games (which over thousand of games from 90s and early 2000s) that can be re-visited and replayed over and again doesnt not even cost a single month sub of mmos. Only If a wise gamer goes for old but gold games of the golden age of gaming which was top at story telling, world building, art and gaming experience. New games fail epically. Was the cash spent on mmos worth it ? No. It was paid out of curiosity and idiocy at younger age. Mmmos have gone crazy at pricing for the last two decades. Over 200 dollars just to unlock the zones is ridiclous.

More scammier than paying for a membership 😂 It annoys me when players give into packs to access Pay to Godly Stats, or Pay to Stop Grinding because it just feeds into kingsisle greed of making farming harder so that we chuck a bunch of money into packs. I purely think packs should only be used for utilities such as mass feint, energy gear, and cosmetics. Stop it with the extra stat mounts, spellements, world gear SMH. Ofc they will never apply my wishful thinking because they are a business. And with all businesses, they exploit either the customer, their employees, outsource work etc. They all exploit in some way.

When i was a child i was Marvel buy the aestethic of this game of the speel animation of all the type of magic and God if the school zone with the big three was beatiful tò look at It was screaming magic from everywhere Then i play It fun for a whole then the pay Wall It and my parents would have never pay for the membership Not in a million year and tò be Fair i hate the month subscribtion mmo But the fact that this game in particular has It make me boil inside because c'mon you know how much i crave for an Harry Potter esque game Ofc this BS pay Wall Is a problem I try the membership month in may recently God this game Is still fun but i know that the fun don't last and they want my money

Yes and how does that help the game, when we all quit? Devs need to listen before we stop caring. I'm sure it won't look good on their resume they killed such a long running game.

The money is coming in from old content, old packs, old bundles etc etc etc. They think we are making lots of sales, players like this crap. We need to speak out more. Remember Wiz has 15 years of content. New players are far from where we are. Speak out. We need articulate players like TNT making videos. We saw although worthless response from KI, they are freaked out by so many youtubers coming together. If "Awesome" wasn't bought and paid for, one of us, imagine the potential change? However everyone knows Awesome and Almond are not one of us, this is good too.
