Just doing some very needed maintenance on the G37, finally got around to replacing the A/C Compressor. Now I can drive it again with more confidence and I won't be dying in the heat during the summer LOL. Got the A/C system recharged yesterday and it's blowing ice cold again 🧊🥶❄️. Hello, I tried getting footage but it came out like ass, too cramped and lighting sucked, nowhere good to put the camera. Here's something I just posted on another reply asking about what is needed to remove the AC compressor, so I'll copy and paste here as well in hopes it helps you. You don't need any special tools, all you need is a regular 3/8th socket set. I was just looking at the old compressor and it looks like the compressor is held in by 3 long bolts (Probably 14mm) and if I remember correctly the top bolt is held in by a loose nut. So when you completely loosen that bolt off that nut it will just fall, so keep an eye out for that. Then each AC line is held in by one 10 or 12mm nuts. Other than that you'll have to remove the serpentine belt of course, there is a special tool for that, but I have seen people do it with a long 3/8th ratchet. It's really not that hard, hope that helps and good luck if you try it yourself.

Hey I was just under my car and noticed my compressor has like build up oil underneath it as if it’s leaking but I haven’t had any issues with my coupe the ac or any noises. Any suggestions and or advice?

Hello, it's possible your compressor is leaking slowly and might be a.while before you start to see any of the effects, but it's also possible your valve cover gasket on that side is leaking and some.of that is getting on the compressor. Start by checking to see if it's your valve cover, if everything looks clean there, clean up the compressor and add dye to the AC system to check for leaks, look up videos on KZbin or you could take it into a service shop and they can do this for you. Did your compressor start blowing cool air? Mine only blows cool air instead of ice cold and it gets warm sometimes took it to the dealership last week and they said it was shot but the pulley and clutch still kick on

@@MemosGarageAZmy AC Compressor also made that noise at randoms in your video and I always thought it was something electrical when it would appear guess it finally gave out lol because when I turn off the AC clutch the pulley stops moving so I have to keep the AC on for now so it doesn’t mess with the belt😅

I tried filming how to take off the AC compressor in this vid, I tried different filming angles, but all came out bad so I left it out. It really isn't that hard to figure it out, all you need to do is look at the new compressor and you'll see where the bolts go and that should help you take out the old one, basically what I did myself.

You have to make a new notch on the bell housing for the vehicle speed sensor, also the bottom two bolts do not like up so only 6 out of 8 can be fitted; this hasn't been an issue for me so not a big deal.

First thing I would look at is to see if the AC clutch is engaging when you turn the AC on (make sure the AC button is actually on, not the speed one but the actual AC button). This is located at the AC pulley, look at the face of the pulley, when the AC isn't on the face of the pulley will be stationary, when you turn it on the clutch will engage and it will rotate with the rest of the pulley. There may be nothing wrong with the compressor, you could just have a bad leak, look around all the hoses especially where the connectors meet the compressor and look for leaks. If there's leaks you'll see like dirt build up which will look wet, it's dirt mixed in with the refrigerant. There's ways of testing high side and low side pressures with special gauges, but you would have to buy a set from like harbor freight. You're probably better off just taking into some shop who has an AC machine that can test for leaks. Oh and if the AC clutch isn't engaging doesn't necessarily mean the compressor is bad, that piece can be replaced on its own like I was trying to, but unfortunately it turned out that my compressor was leaking so had to replace the entire thing. Mine is doing the exact same thing on my 2008 G37, same noise. I bought the entire Four Seasons kit from RockAuto. Comes with a drier, expansion valve and the compressor and o-rings. I was planning on doing the whole thing. Did any of you guys replace the drier also, the long aluminum cannister that sits right behind the grill in front of the radiator. Looks kinda hard to get to?

I didn't replace it for the sake of just getting it done, although it is recommended to replace so far I've been fine. Mine had no signs of leakage anywhere around it, so I said F' it LOL

A/C issues aren't always the easiest to diagnose, sounds like you're probably low on refrigerant which means there's a leak somewhere, but there's just enough in there for the A/C clutch to engage when you turn it on. Really only way to truly know is to diagnose with the right tools which most people don't have, so you're just gonna have to take it to a shop, good luck.

It could also mean that the clutch spacing might be off so it doesn't engage properly, so doesn't necessarily mean you have a leak, it could be some many things LOL
