Metaphor will win Goty for sure (or / and win most awards).., as its good AND panders.. ... DQXIS didn't win Goty, Persona 5 didn't win best music.., but Metaphor panders and gets all the nominations.. ... it sends a bad president, Metaphor will win Goty,.. want a Jrpg to get pushed by access media & get nominated? pander.. ... Metaphor is still great, but has issues: last quarter it drops off, combat is unbalanced (especially later) & has too much RNG (unless you grind or use a guide, its unbalanced), the characters are too tame (especially compared to other Atlus characters), exploration on map is non-existence, console versions have performance issues.., but still got 94, as most journos played on easy or story mode and liked the "pandering"..

Let's be honest, Shadow of the Erdtree is one of the best DLCs in history, but it's still 99% an Elden Ring copy(a game that has already been awarded). This nomination is a slap in the face to devs who create entirely new and incredible experiences... If it wins GOTY, it would genuinely be a sad day for the industry

@revhentie5207 Who mentioned Outlaw and Dragon Age ? Both games were received rather poorly by critics (75 and 82 on Metacritic). Shadow of the Erdtree is stealing the spot from Infinite Wealth or Helldivers 2. Either way, it’s disgraceful.

DLCs should count. They aren’t their own game by definition. They wouldn’t give an individual minecraft update an award for a whole game! (As an example)

Shadow of the erdtree is by far and away my favorite piece of gaming content I have played this year. I have played it more than actual games that have released. I don’t care if a game is a dlc, a remake, a full game, a sequel other than anything else. If I like it more than anything else that released in the year, than it deserves game of the year. But that’s just how I feel

I'm so glad all the memes about concord and dragon age being on the nomination list remain just a meme and I'm super happy that Prince of Persia got a recognition since it was such an amazing game that not a lot of people played and it's such a shame. other than that I'm surprised princess peach showtime got a nomination and not SMB wonder but the list this is year is very good and not a single game undeserving like in previous years. good to see TGA coming around!

For the Fighting game category, I can say that I play Multiversus a lot and thoroughly enjoy the game but there is no way in hell it deserves an award for such a bad relaunch. Especially since they won a game award for the 'beta,' released two seasons of content, and then ditched their playerbase for 2 years. It's not a beta when you get a game award and release multiple seasons of paid content. So yeah, no award for them. MVC all the way baby.

Rebirth by all accounts **DESERVES** Game of the Year, since it’s basically 5 modern Final Fantasies integrated in a single release. Erd Tree is really a Tears of the Kingdom situation. Great game, but it’s basically the same thing. Wukong is Chinese God of War Metaphor is fantasy Persona. Astrobot is an interactive ad for PlayStation. I hope it wins, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth needs recognition!

I think 1000xresist is way too small even for the jury to even nominate it for indie game. Neva also has good scores and came out in october which would have definitely helped it as its a newer and fresher thing. 1000xresist released earlier in the year and the hype was there but it wasn't big enough. Though Lorelei is in a similar boat but got in.
