I use in aviation red nail polish. If the nut slip it cracks. So you visual know it got loose

Do you have a link to the video of your sail drives getting destroyed by shore power? Something similar happened to our saildrives and engine heat exchangers in our Lagoon 450. Watching your video, I think the problem was that our galvanic isolator probably went bad. Our solution at the time was to remove one of the wires (I think the ground) in the shore power cord.

Hello Dauntless crew loved the video and all the hard work. My favorite day of the week Dauntless build/tech stuff. At one point you all were talking about Tesla batteries for 48v system. I know you had some trouble with water on those batteries. Did you all switch to Battle Born or are you still going to have some Tesla? Also 12v system you mentioned. Last boat had a 3 48v to 12v converters in it. I am guessing you all plan to use a some sort of charger to take 48v and charge your 12v battery system. If so love that idea gives the boat a great (emergency) operating 12v system without the need for 48v system is something brakes down in the 48v system. Or you all run the A/C system all night and empty or behemoth house bank.

Love to know why you changed from using a Tesla battery pack to the battle born. What was the decision making process on that? Did the teslas on the 450 not preform as you thought? Insurance implications?

The Tesla’s actually performed very well. Unfortunately, insurance has really fixated on lithium iron phosphate. I made the decision to move to a more future compliant battery for myself and my off grid consulting clients. This battery performs at the top of the pack and the company provides good customer service.

And for a good reason. Maybe you‘ve heard of a freighter called „Fremantle Highway“… That said - I‘m not the biggest fan of the BB setup. We‘ve got a 48V Pylontech setup which is Victron-certified, provides external regulation and you get tons of data and statistics via the CAN bus. But let‘s wait and see - maybe the BB can provide something similar.

We rarely if ever talk about money on the channel. The purpose of this is to show the journey and what we are doing to build our home. we sold our company to be able to buy our boat and still work full-time to pay for the lifestyle, and then we work another full-time job to make videos for people to watch for free. The purpose of the channel is to show a fun project and an alternate lifestyle not to give you a blow by blow of my checkbook register
