Wow, once again, you explained this better than anyone else. Ok, so for a long time now, I've known that I was coming over the top. I've improved over the years by watching videos and practise on the range but I could never quite understand how to get rid of this action till your video. It just makes so much sense now. No other explanations really clicked for me but this one did instantly. Can't wait to get to the driving range. Ryan, I've said it before, you are THE best teacher on here. Thank you so much. Germain

I can't think of any golf lesson that has helped me as much as this one. I was shanking so badly I nearly walked away from the game and have cancelled my club membership. It's only that I have a weekend away with mates for the Ryder Cup that made me have one more go. 60 balls on the range this morning using this lesson and I'm back to enjoying swinging a club again. The tip of starting the club 'behind you' and letting the body rotation do the rest is a real game changer in every sense. Thank you CR!

Oh my gosh chris, that was exactly what I needed to hear right now. I haven't been dropping the club far enough behind me to start my downswing. I new something was wrong, but I just couldn't figure out what. I did it and hit a plastic, practice ball I use at home and absolutely crushed it with a beautiful ball flight. Really made me want to hit a real ball. I've been working out a lot and my ball striking has been actually worse, but I now think it's because I am subconsciously rotating harder and faster which was causing me to get the club out in front too much. Thank you!

Nicely presented to get people on the right track (literally) to hitting the ball much more solid. When I first heard about this move it was presented as a delay and I was never sure where it came from consistently. Instead of focusing on an arm delay, for me anyway, I focus on a turn delay. This keeps the connection with all body parts more solid and quite frankly, effortless. When you do it right you feel more of a sling. The four or five o’clock reminder will help in a drill to get it down. Great and important video. Thanks

Great lesson on getting into the "slot" or making the "magic move" so often touted. Your explanation of using the clock face to help set up for an effortless swing. As you were explaining I was going back through recent swings where it was "effortless distance" with the irons. It was when I was in the slot/perfect position. Will be using your lesson to keep building the proper sequence in the downswing.

What I would love to see is a video that helps describe what went wrong in the swing, most likely, based on the trajectory of the shot. If we hit it thin, start right and push/slice right, start right and drew/hook left, start left and sliced right, etc etc - and kinda get a formula of "if this is happening with your golf trajectory, try focusing on these 3 things" "if your ball is doing THIS pattern, focus on doing these three things instead"

1:45 interesting my instructor was trying to get me to make sure the club head was really behind the target line and my body at delivery position, because it meant I was doing an inside to out swing, which would give a nice push draw. Maybe not so true?
@ChrisRyanGolf3 жыл бұрын
Club head behind the hands is ideal for the draw shot so if your working towards that then that position works. I highlighted the delivery for more of a neutral ball flight so will be slightly different

@craigcrawford67493 жыл бұрын
The arms cannot move downwards in relation to their position on the chest. They move "down" because of spine angle and rotation. Any time you tell amateur golfers to start manipulating arms or hands during the downswing it's going to end in disaster
