I KNOW I talked a lot of shit this one but man, MVCI deserved so much better. The gameplay is a genuine blast but everything around this game is so underbaked and undercooked that it became a laughing stock of the internet, killing my favorite fighting game franchise of all time. One day, MvC will return. One day. Should I do an MVC3 video?

it's also the reason why there are no X-men in the game, because marvel ( disney ) didn't have the movie rights to them and were trying to give as little material or promotion as possible to fuck over Fox, I think the only reason we got Ghost Rider was out of pity for how bad those films were. Capcom didn't ruin this game despite being the ones who made it, Disney Marvel did.

In all fairness, looking at A.I.M.brella, it's pretty obvious that they intended to stick in Wesker and Deadpool as DLC if the game had done well. Seeing how more of the villains join the fight would have been hella sick. Missed opportunity to see the heroes recruit Wesker to research and combat the Ultra Sigma infection. Or, better yet, have Wesker join Ultron Sigma from the beginning like the other villains, only to have made an anti-virus and betray him. Fits Wesker's scheming behavior to a T.

You come to this game to see Spider-Man shooting webs at Mike Haggar. Most people who were hyped for this game have been playing the series for close to 20 years at that point. You don't need a scene of characters being: "My name is Ryu, who are you?", "I'm Iron Man, I got metal suit. Let me take you to the Avengers", "Who are the Avenegrs?". You know that and it would actually end up feeling more like "when are they gonna get to the fireworks factory?". 9:30 Cause the new characters had to be made fresh, everyone else was just yoinked from MvC3, only there's no comic book stylish filter. 11:56 See? This is what you're here for - Hulk and Ryu doing Fastball Special. Moments like that, not sitting down and comparing notes about their whole universes. 15:21 "Most 90's character", created in the 70's. Captain Marvel is a prominent character in Marvel comics these days. Of course they're going to push her whether people like the character or not. I for one enjoyed her character in Midnight Suns. Carol in that game is a stark contrast to the one we see in the movies.

A story mode in this series is completely unneeded, as anyone who has played this series since the beginning knows and as this game proves. Capcom, Marvel... we beg you. Just make a fully-loaded and fleshed out roster of entertaining characters everyone wants to play as. Bring back the X-Men. Bring back our BB Hoods, Servbots, and Sentinals, our Phoenix Wrights, Deadpools, and Amaterasus. Stop trying to make a "balanced" game for e-sports tournaments and make a FUN game. It will sell.

Mvci died because of karma from kof14, capcom fanboy trash kof 14 for its graphic even though the gameplay was crazy fun, because of that people perspective towards fighting game change where graphics is above gameplay, added to that the animosity from kof community cause by capcom fanboy just makes the situation worse. Mvci graphics was meme to death and the game died less than a year after its released.

Sigma was one of my favs on this game and his whole moveset is just flying around and hitting you with the lightsaber so the fusion doing that is a pretty accurate hybrid of their movesets. it's still insane to me they made sigma a dlc though when he was one of the primary antagonists of the game, it feels as dumb as shang tsung being dlc in mk1 right now

I feel that they should’ve replaced Haggar with Zangief since Umbrella grabbing him for experiments makes more sense for Zangief than Haggar. Instead of Nemesis, Jill from UMvC3 would’ve been a better fit or Wesker. The soul stone being used for a Symbiote Dino is disappointing because Morrigan and Jedah are present and if you’ve played Darkstalkers 3, they could’ve adapted Lilith since they’re a part of Morrigan’s soul and have a interesting plot point with her being connected to the soul stone. Spencer sucked and they could’ve replaced him with Captain Commando or another Capcom character like Power Stone (which they made a joke about in the game’s story). Dormammu should’ve been more in this to justify his roster spot and they could’ve used anyone other than Firebrand. Apparently Dante from DMC was going to be in this, but due to backlash, we got OG Dante and it’s why his model is better than OG Dante’s. Venom should’ve been a boss fight, Black Panther, Monster Hunter, and Sigma should’ve been unlockable characters in the base roster. Deadpool had a cover tie-in for the game and it was a bit lame, but he should’ve been in the game as DLC or at least Gwenpool if they didn’t want to use mutants at the time. Miles Morales had a cover tie-in featuring him in it and he didn’t even appear as a skin. The backgrounds of stages teased characters Ken and Iron Fist and they didn’t appear. Ken should’ve been a unlockabke character/alternate look for Ryu.

MvC might be dead for now, but it doesn’t mean that Capcom isn’t interested in making a new one. Because they rereleased the entire series as a Arcade 1Up cabinet and there was a re-release with a X-Men ‘97 tie-in theme this year. Let’s hope that the next one whenever comes out, is given the MvC3 or MvC2 treatment because the series needs to be good again after the abomination that was MvCI
