I see a lot of comments about JaMarcus... what’s craziest to me is how loaded LSU was in NFL talent. Brandon LaFell, Early Doucet, Dwayne Bowe, Jacob Hester... Russell was throwing to NFL talent all over the place

Mental health is just as important as physical health...He was dealing with deep depression during his short time with the Raiders due to the loss of multiple family members and the Raiders abandoned him after a coaching change and not realizing that the young man needed some serious therapy...I am glad there is more awareness to mental health for athletes in 2022...

This man was given a DVD with plays the Raiders wanted him to take a look at and what he thinks of the plays, he took the DVD home with him and the next day they asked him if he liked any of the plays. He said he liked them all. The DVD was blank… and you sit there and type the Raiders abandoned him, he stole millions from the Raiders and is a huge reason why we don’t pay 1st overall picks a lot of money anymore

I had to help myself and I didn’t have $30 million dollars to seek help with. JaMarcus had the resources to get help but he kept drinking codeine and making himself worse. That’s NOT on the Raiders and they didn’t abandon him. JaMarcus was JaMarcus before and after the Raiders. If anything it was his personal Friends and family that abandoned him and let him go astray. Sabin benched his starting qb and replaced him with Jamarcus Russel, within minutes Jamarcus brought LSU back and were leading the game before Iowa made a miracle touchdown right in front of Sabin and in front of us. @@chrishandsome4267 If you know football the skills are apparent. The Sugar Bowl game tape makes that obvious. This is why he went #1. Anyone who goes into the NFL is not a finished product. You have to work on your skills to get better at the next level. Defenses, verbage, and speed of the game are alot different than the college level. In the pros everyone is a 7-10 skill wise. You are playing with grown men with families. They are called Pros for a reason. In college, skills levels are everywhere. The best player on certain college teams are not good enough to get looked at by the NFL. This is where he got into trouble. He wanted to be an NFL quarterback but didn't want to put in the hard work necessary to stay an NFL quarterback. That's the difference between a good pick up and a bust. Work ethic.

Forgot how accurate he was when he had just a little time. He was by himself and in over his head in the NFL. If the Raiders had basically assigned someone to him to keep him on track then he’d still probably be playing. Most 22 year olds would make mistakes in Calif with $32.5M.

@@Mr.Burton98 that's the kind of sorry ass comment I would expect from a Raiders fan. If the franchise was worth a damn, they wouldn't have top 10 picks the last 20 years. And if they had anybody who knows hiw to evaluate talent, they would have seen red flags from Russell and woukd have planned accordingly. Don't blame a bad franchise on one person.

You LSU fans have NO IDEA what "suck" really is. Try going through a 3-9 season where your team is losing by 30 points nearly every game like I did! Les Miles didn't suck, he was a good coach. LSU also had some 10-11 win seasons as well, even had a National Championship with him. Hell, had LSU has some offense in 2011, they would've possibly won it that year or at least not lose by 21. Unfortunately teams have picked up on Les Mile's trick plays, like his fake field goals and fake punts for example. He did that too much. Doesn't mean he sucked as a coach. You LSU fans should be more grateful than that.
