Harris Highlights LSU's WR Josh Reed vs Alabama 2001. 19 receptions 293 yards 1 TD. In that same game, QB Rohan Davey completed 80% of his passes for 528 yards 2 TDs and 1 int Reed still holds the official record for receiving yards in a season in SEC history with 1740, and receiving yards per game with 145. Bowl game stats weren't officially counted then (though I wish they would finally go back and count them), because his 239 yards would put him at 1979 yards on the season. One of the highest single season yardage records by a college receiver of all time.

Ty Calvert first time in history that the great Ohio State vs Michigan rivalry came down to #1 vs #2 11-0 vs 11-0. No B1G championship game so winner was garunteed a spot in the national title game. A game of that magnitude almost never happens in regular season

joe troy I’m an OSU fan. Troy Smith had a better college career but Kyler has a better chance to be successful in the NFL. Troy Smith had more years playing and played in (and won) the best ever game played in the best rivalry in sports, one considered a top 5 best ever game of college football ever played. That said, he wasn’t that great in the NFL and had his career cut short by disease. Kyler Murray played less games than Troy and none of them were classics. He was good, but not iconic. He is however a better prospect for the NFL. The changes in the league make it so Kyler’s height is less than a concern than Smith’s was (his Wikipedia says he was 5’11’’ and that hurt his draft stock) and Kyler is also a freak athlete and capable of making throws that Smith couldn’t at the NFL level. I guess the best way of putting it is this: Troy Smith is a guy who’s jersey I’d hang up at Ohio stadium, and Kyler Murray is a guy I’d draft if I needed a QB.

William Calvert While the Iron bowl is an awesome rivalry and is in my opinion the second best in college football, the game is better. First of all, OSU and UM are both blue blood programs, while Alabama is and Auburn isn’t. Auburn’s lack of historical success (compared to the other three we’re talking about, they’re a fine program) brings that rivalry down. Second, the game has had a lot more iconic matchups and periods over time. There is nothing like the ten year war in all of sports. Two of the best coaches ever going at it for a decade. There is also numerous other iconic matchups like the 1v2 game in 06 and the ‘16 thriller. This isn’t saying that the iron bowl doesn’t have iconic games or importance, im not stupid. But overall the game is consistently one of the most important games played all season and has a lot more super important games over the years.

@@ethanhopping7296 There was a 5 year period where the winner of the Iron Bowl went to the National Ttitle game and they went 4-1 in those appearances. Over the last ten years no game has been more impactful to major success than the Iron Bowl.
