It's amazing that places like that crater exist in this world... and that you've gotten to see it! Gotta say that it made me sad to see Jolie looking so excited about the border crossing into Iran... and at the same time so accommodating to what you all thought was coming, with the head scarf at the ready. Sending love & support the way of both of you.

Jolie and Mark, This was a bitter sweet episode knowing what was to ensue on the other side of the border. Remember that feeling when we didn’t hear from you for so long. I think my wife reached out to Jolie’s mum on Facebook to check up on you guys and see if you were ok. Then came the horrible news. We had you guys in our prayers and then very soon also got the good news of you guys getting out of there. Takes great courage to be putting these episodes after all that was. Preeti and I are super proud of you guys, the way you’ve come through it all, the courage you’ve shown. I hope you don’t loose the spark for adventure in your hearts. To see your troopy on the road again would give us immense pleasure. Is your Patreon link still working and when can we expect to see your happy faces back over landing? Cheers, Daniel

Thanks for the support Dan (and Preeti), and thanks for the concern during the drama. It's been great getting these last episodes out and reliving the good times, definitely gives some motivation to finish off what we started. To be back behind the wheel of the Troopy again would give us immense pleasure also! Thankfully it's in good hands and we're very much looking forward to being reunited, patching it up, and hitting the road again. Finally there's now light at the end of the tunnel. 🙂 Cheers www.patreon.com/thewayoverland if you wanted to check it out.

Hi guys! Lovely to see some new videos and to hear that you are all safe and sound. Have been following your adventures from the beginning but just recently binge watched all your videos. Really inspirational!!! A few queries if you don’t mind...when you left the troopy, say to go out diving for the day, were you concerned about it getting pinched or broken into? Did you have any workarounds for this? What did you do about showers? Did you have an onboard setup? I remember you said you used filtered water to fill your tanks so I don’t spose you were using that for showering. Do you think it would be hard to get tap water in indo to fill the tanks if you didn’t want it for drinking? Thanks and hope you can get back on the road as soon as covid settles down 💜
@TheWayOverland3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Tory! When we left the Troopy yes, we were always worried, though we attempted to mitigate the risk/consequence as much as we could (without being tied to it) and accept the rest is part of this style of travel. If possible we would usually ask a local business/restaurant or the like who we had dealt with to watch over it, they would usually take great pride in this responsibility so that would provide some peace of mind. If we were set up and walk to dinner or something we would shut the curtains, leave a light on, and maybe some music playing. Showers, dependent on where we were, would either be a simple solar shower, to a bucket, to a bottle with a hole in the lid (good for limited water situations). This is something which we had've wished we put more thought into initially and will install when we we get back to the Troopy. We have more than enough pump power though limiting water use from our main tank is the concern. A simply 12v shower kit from an auxiliary source might be the way forward. When we used filtered water to fill the tanks it was as it was convenient with our tank setup, easily locatable, and cost effective (not so much as it was filtered, we have onboard filters so the fact it was pre-filtered was a bonus). For most of Asia you can buy 15L of filtered water for about $1. We did also fill from streams which is where the onboard filters were handy. In parts of Indo you may be able to find tap water, it really just depends on your distance from a major hub. Hope this helps, Cheers

Thanks guys! Just a though, have you seen the glinde heat exchanger for the hot wafer? We don’t actually have one but have heard lots of good things so that might be the way we end up going. All the best 💜💜💜

Nice view 👍 Have you ever experienced problems with troopy campers, especially with diesel fuel during the trip?
@TheWayOverland3 жыл бұрын
Cheers, only minor mechanical problems though nothing out of the ordinary with this sort of travel. We’ve noticed a difference in fuel qualities through countries though it hasn’t caused any issues. We have duel fuel filters so that has helped.
