I lived in Tulsa, and things not covered by you were: It is free to canoe on the lake, weather permitting There is a free museum in that tall building that's free to go to They have a couple of restaurants in the park that you can go to. Depending what you want to see or do, park in that area. The bridge over the river use to be a pedestrian bridge. It goes close to where October's is held. I agree, make a picnic day of it. You can't see it all in one day even if you arrive at the park when it opens to when it closes. Although opened to the public, it is privately owned. There will be security all over the park. Please throw away any trash. Pick up after yourself. Yes, keep your eyes on all your children, even the older ones. We don't live in Tulsa anymore, but we are visiting this weekend. We plan on going.

We have a shuttle from downtown to the gate now. It starts at the Denver Avenue Bus station & goes to the front entrance with a few stops along the way I believe. I'm sure a couple are for park & ride places. Or you can take the local buses but have Abit more walking too.

I certainly wouldn't call it the 'best' by the video. I'm sure it's a fun place, but it doesn't even have pretty landscaping. That's something that is always an appealing attribute for tourists.

At the sports area, all those lighting poles were really awful. Is the place open when it's dark outside? It shouldn't be. Is there anything there for adults to enjoy or is it just a huge children's park?
@Hawaiiansky113 жыл бұрын
There are hiking trails as well as bicycling trails. I didn't bring a bicycle with me on my trip to Tulsa, so I can't tell you how long the trail is, but there is a pretty long trail along the river. They were closed (not sure if because of COVID or the season), but there is also a place there to rent paddle boats, canoes and kayaks. In the area next to the park, there are hiking trails past numerous apartment buildings (also parking nearby) that have numerous nature-themed statues, such as deer and elk.

They need to keep up with the landscaping.
@macwinlin4 жыл бұрын
Although it looks out of order, the landscaping was specifically designed that way. “Michael Van Valkenburg & Associates designed Gathering Place’s horticulture style to be lush with thick, mixed plantings and a rural aesthetic. Species are planted in swaths and shifts, with mixtures of texture and color. Nature will guide the garden development as aggressive plants take over. Plants are designed to swallow up hard edges and rails, and the Park is designed with active resistance to an overly tidy look. The over-arching theme of the natural areas features a mixture of ecological regions found in Oklahoma including prairies, wetlands, and forests. Additionally, there are park-like explosions of lawn, formal shrubs, flower displays, and secluded garden gems. “
