Every so often, I go back and rewatch all of Caleb in one or two sittings. When I first watched it, I was struggling a lot with my gender identity, shame about my addictive tendencies, and so forth. Seeing Freckle, even though I turned out to be a lot more masculine than them, I felt so reassured that I was allowed to exist like that. It made feel like a little bit less of a freak. Now I'm 21, and I still come back, finding securities in other things; jobs, school, always being broke, struggles in love, and more. It feels like coming home, like a hug from a friend who I haven't seen in months (it's sept2020, the Netherlands in neck deep in a second covid wave, I refuse to go outside). I was crying today, but now I feel comforted. Thanks Brian
