Ironically, Hayley's actual solo project, Petals For Armor, sounds way different. It's not quite for me. And I do feel like her vocals on This Is Why (the entire album) have influence from the way she sang on Petals for Armor.

There’s a bass fill in the last chorus of Still Into You that gives it so much movement. It’s descending the scale following Hayley’s vocal melody when she sings “yeah, after all this time…” and the way it locks in with Ilan Rubin’s drumming is so good. I urge anyone to go look up full-band backing tracks to their albums (no vocals). Especially Self-Titled and After Laughter. There’s a lot of really great, sophisticated stuff happening behind Hayley’s (obviously really great) vocal tracks.

Would love to see a video like this for Queens of the Stone Age. Michael Schumann is one of the absolute best rock bassists alive. Like seriously hes incredible. The bassline for "I appear missing" is a masterpiece. There's also loads of grealty underappreciated basslines early in their discography, such as; Mexicola, Give the Mule what he wants, and in the Fade. Paramore has so many fun riffs to play on both guitar and bass, Jeremy and Josh Farro/Taylor York work so well together but I do agree with Sharon in that Misery Business, CrushCrushCrush and That's What You Get should've been included, those ones are awesome and for another band I honestly think it could be cool to see one on The Hollies. Eric Haydock (One of the first guys to use a Fender Bass VI) and Bernie Calvert all absolutely kill it

I’ve got a few suggestions for you… Graham Maby: the album Look Sharp by Joe Jackson has had a prominent position in my playlist for 45 years primarily due to the phenomenal bass lines of Graham Maby. Paul Denman: the entire Sade catalog is loaded with beautifully crafted bass lines created by Paul Denman. Ale Villareal: The Warning has become one of my favorite bands of recent years. Although she’s still a teenager, she has created so many great bass lines in their last 3 albums, and I can’t wait to hear what the future holds.

I’m late to watching this video! Was on a school field trip in the woods with no internet-good times. I really enjoyed this video as I’ve been wanting to learn some Paramore bass lines. All good picks on the video. There is a fun slide in the song “Now” around 2:50 into the song. I’m not sure if there would be enough content for a video on utilizing bass for slides. Another fun example is in the DMB song “Busted Stuff” around 2:30. Finally, the bass line throughout the first half of Beyoncé’s “Partition” features great slides.
