The second part of this series is out! kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqa0oWykgqaIoa8 Edit: At 3:26 the promotion comes with check Qc8+ (For those who thought that is winning for black) -At 9:36 I made a mistake and put two bishops of the same color which is illegal, I created some of these examples from scratch and I did not notice at the time, probably misclicked, the board can be very sensitive when you set up a position.

4:15 So crazy. Years of playing chess. Years of instruction and research. Years of hearing B pair offers about half a pawn benefit (often explained as arising due to the long range nature of B). Just flabbergasted that I have never read or heard that optimal coverage of squares is a key/relevant factor in terms of a match up of B pair against N pair. Stating that in terms of percentages of squares controlled is a fantastic way to help someone truly wrap their heads around why the B pair is often worth fighting for. [But not always...particularly in closed positions.] 👍

I think i misunderstood the tactical geometry part, i suppose that part is just to explain but not to use during a chess game, for example king, rook and bishop against king and queen, it was a totally won endgame for withe pieces, but if you play rook in d8, then you will draw a won position.
