The German Beer Drinking Song

I wrote this song for a German class assignment in college. Dad (who grew up in Berlin) always liked it, but I never recorded it. All That Has Changed. I am now uploading this lovely webcam recording as an 88th birthday present for the greatest dad EVER. No fancy recording tricks, Dad. No expensive gadgets or wah-wah pedals, just me and some missed chords. I love you, Dad!

This song and you playing it means a lot to me on so many levels. I grew up in Germany with my family. I never had a strong connection to my dad for he was absent a lot, but two major connection points between us was playing the 7th Guest together and listening to the soundtrack in the family car. My dad had a musical background and one day he played the "bedspread theme" on my recorder when I was 10 years old. This was the first realisation I ever had that an instrument could be used to play songs from video games. I went on to study music and have been teaching piano and drums from 17 years now. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of my connection to my dad. Your music is till this day inspiring and awesome. This gem of a video is so touching. Thank you for making it. Matthew, your comment is kind and warm and made me think of Dad. He lived to be 90, next year in 2023 he would have been 100. I'll show this comment to my mom, she'll be happy --and I reckon she'll be proud of me. She's like that. :D Thank you thank you thank you.
