That’s partially correct, as a bar owner I’ll tell you: That’s why certain glasses are made for certain type of beers. And now, about the pouring it’s the part were he is partially correct but still pouring it half way of foam is incorrectly. That’s just an old trick. Foam must be 1/4 TOPS not 1/2. That’s just wrong.

It ain’t quicker, you have to then top it off later to fill the glass, once the heads gone down.. Germany literally drops the beer from up high and you then you have to wait for the bartender to then fill the glass.. I used to order two pints at a time as it’s not like the UK, wham bam thank you mam.. In the UK we are allowed to put shit in it like sulphides, anti foaming agents and the like.. Slower is better..clean beer gives you less chance of a hangover in the morning.. Drinking less also, but that misses the point! Lol 😂

Here is how you do it the german way (right way): Pour the beer slowly to not overflow the glass with foam and then gradually increase the pouring speed to get a beautiful foam crown. If you want it to be extra foamy you can pour the bottle almost empty and shake up the rest. Now you can pour the foam directly from the bottle

Have you ever wondered why a brandy is served in a differently-shaped glass than a port or champagne, for example? The glasses have been designed to hold the best temperature, direct the most aroma to the nose and the liquid to the optimal part of the tongue. Good beers and ales often have their own specific glasses. Many European breweries even have their own proprietary glasses specific for their brew. What he poured was Stella Artois, which is still good straight from the bottle. But for Chimay, Maredsous, Leffe, Corsendonk, etc, it would be a waste to not use a glass. If you're talking about Coors, Miller, Michelob, etc, definitely drink it straight from the bottle to cover the stench.
