The Geud Man of Ballangigh ~ Palmer

The Geud Man of Ballangigh is an English Country Dance first published in Playford's Dancing Master of 1696, and interpreted by Cecil Sharp 1922, this was modified slightly for Palmer's Pocket Playford (1987) and was published in "The Playford Ball". It is a proper duple minor dance.
The tune called, "Hunt the Squirrel" was published in another edition of Playford. It was performed by Bare Necessities (Earl Gaddis, Mary Lea, Peter Barnes, and Jacqueline Schwab) on the album "A Playford Ball". The animation plays at 115 counts per minute normally, but the first time through the set the dance is slowed down so people can learn the figures more readily. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color, however the border of each dancer indicates what role they currently play so the border color will change each time through the minor set.
