I'm a pretty new player and I just had my first "meeting" with a Ghost Leviathan yesterday. I was coming back to base after exploring a wreck in the Grand Reef, and suddenly I heard a screech. Then my Seamoth was down to 41% hp. Then I turned around a saw the leviathan. It was truly an amazing experience. Subnautica is awesome.

I have a huge fear of ghost leviathans man. I can handle being grabbed by the reaper, being shot at by sea dragons, but something about them sends a chill down my spine. I didn't know about them in the grand reef and blood kelp, so hearing that had my jaw on the floor. Never going there again

Missed the upload somehow but hello again, love it when you post. Ghost leviathans are one of the coolest looking leviathans in the game, but since the area where theyre encountered the most (the lost river) is kinda a late game area they don’t feel too threatening at all, which is disappointing

Most massive creature's don't mate for long periods of time. Such as a breed of shark that lays it's eggs at 150. So going off that, ghost leviathans probably mate every few thousand years. Then the eggs probably take a few decades to actually hatch. So it'd make sense that the ocean changes and the eggs get buried over time.

Ghost Leviathans attack you with a bite, not ramming. I very much believe that it attacks you firstly because you entered it's territory but it also eats you as a second bonus. Your character is very small compared to it, even smaller than it's main prey but not by much if i remember correctly. I don't believe that a predator like that would skip a potential source of protein.

It's weird how nobody talks about the fact that the Ghost Leviathan is the actual biggest aggressive Leviathan in the game, with the ones in the void being around 122 meters long, 10 whole meters longer than the Sea Dragon

Since 3 show up in the void no matter where you are even if you go to one side then go straight across to the other they will show up due to them just spawning in once you enter the void anywhere it kind of implies that there’s many more circling around the crater and just 3 tend to be how many show up when something enters

I may be weird but I didn’t have much trouble with Ghosts. Because they glow they aren’t too hard to spot early and so long as you stay out of their way, they leave you alone. I had much more trouble with Reapers, since they actively hunt you. The only trouble I really had was when I tried building a scanner room in the Sparse Reef and one kept attacking me, but he wondered off after a while and I was fine.

When I played Subnautica, I would name each of the leviathans. In the case of the Ghost, I had a theory it was always the same leviathan named Casper.

I know most are afraid of reapers, due to their roar l. But my actual fear came from this slimey fish, I ran into one near Degasi base and thought they are just like reapers are afraid of Seamoth shock thing, but when ghost still attacked me even after being zapped, that's when I got terryfied of loosing my hardcore character :D

I think that the only ghost leviathan in the egg is the thing that looks like it has a stem. The rest are polar bodies, which are parts of an egg cell that are the remains of the other daughter cells that result from meiosis.

They are filter feeders, but also seem to hunt other smaller prey when they get the chance! Luckily human doesn't appear to be on the menu though, they're just super aggressive and territorial

The Ghost Leviathans too me are far less scary than Reaper Leviathans despite being stronger and more damaging. They're simply easier to spot and sidestep when agitated compared to the Reaper.
