I can't really assess the pronunciation, but it sounds great, and the original lyrics are much more musical compared to the flatter English version anyway, so: Yes. As a brazilian i can assure you the pronunciation is near perfect. The carioca (Rio de Janeiro native) accent is on point. Her performance is absolutely stunning. Parabéns Martina!

Though as a Brazilian I can notice slight clues that she's not a native Portuguese speaker, I thinks it's one of the closest to perfect pronunciation I've ever heard from a non-native.

This is a literal translation (as best as I can do). Some literal translations can be incorrect as certain phrases are idiomatic expressions that mean more than just the actual words. One of my favourite songs of all time. The girl from Ipenema, in Portuguese. The haunting melody, the bosses nova rhythm. The sound of the Brazilian sun. This version is with that extra bit of spice. The vocalist is an absolute beast The musicians, second to none. Each super skillful. The pianist is profoundly excellent. Together, super impressive

I’ve been fortunate enough to spend to quality time on Ipanema Beach and ate in the ‘Garota de Ipanema’ restaurant close by the beach there where this song was penned. Every time I hear this song it takes me right back there. Love Ipanema Beach.

One cannot help falling in love with Martina' singing. She is the Karen Carpenter of jazz. Karen was -possibly- the best pop singer this country ever produced, with a distinctive voice that came accross crystal clear. Martina has nothing to envy Karen. Her voice, the quality and taste of arragements and vocal flourishes is impeccable. Jobim, Vinicius, Joao Gilberto, Dori Caymmi and other great musician/composers are smiling wherever they are when Martina sings their songs. Even Claus Ogerman himself, would had been very pleased to have arranged for a Martina DaSilva record.
