I watched her earlier story. Terrys Dad is such a kind loving man. How sad that the mom left and and could not handle seeing her. If only someone could have reached her and brought her back, because she is the one who has lost out on seeing her wonderful little girl grow up. In 1957, I also was burned at almost 3 years old. I have third degree burns on 75%. I set myself on fire by finding the zippo lighter and fluid and tried to fill it. It took me a long time to love myself. I did well in school but whenever things would happen I kept it to myself. I struggled with life at times and felt jealous of my sisters and cousin, friends and all. Dating was hard because although I was one of the lucky ones where most of my scars could be hidden by clothes. My chest and ribs were covered, my arms were webbed and fingers too. And a little on my face. I knew in time when I met the right guy, I would have to let him see these scars. I had reconstructive surgeries. They told me I may never be able to carry a child. Things worked out because I did marry a wonderful guy, we have 3 grown kids and 6 grand kids. I am so thankful for my blessings every day. God bless you Terry, if you see this. You are one of the strongest young ladies I know. Bless your wonderful father and grand parents and stepmom. I pray as well for your bio mom. Forgiveness is one of the hardest things. I hope you can forgive her, although as hard as it would be. I never blamed anyone for my accident. But I do not know how I would have ever made it without my mom. She stood by me much like your Dad did for you. God bless you always.

She is a very sweet tender hearted person and I hope to see her story as she gets older. It does make you stop and think. I used to be teased about my looks in school, so as I got older I thought I was ugly. It took me years to believe that I was beautiful. I have no burns or congenital birth defects. I would spend the rest of my life trying to make it better because that’s what moms do… Her father is amazing and such a special soul. I’m so glad that he was able to find such a wonderful person to marry and give Terri a mother that she so desperately needed.

@maranishanbaeva3712 For all you know, after the accident the mother may have bèen teetering on suicide's door, almost unable to function. Yet, you seem to disregard that possibility entirely and expect her to have behaved normally. Could you be that strong, to look at what you had done to your child who you love with all your heart, and not fall apart? Personally, I think it best to reserve our judgments until, we, ourselves are perfect.

Terri has survived and endured more than most can even imagine, and it has made her even more of a strong, beautiful and capable young lady than she was before the fire. I feel awful for her mum, and although I totally understand her decision to withdraw from Terri's life, I feel that she is the one who has lost out by doing so, and had she stayed, the guilt she felt would have been healed by becoming part of Terri's recovery. I had no idea before reading the comments that Terri had a child of her own, but I was very happy tolearn that, and it doesn't surprise me! I feel that Terri has already proved over and over again that she can do anything she sets her mind to, and everything had better move out of her way, or get mown down! LOL! Terri, how amazing, amazing you ARE! What a tremendous story of resilience and love for life and living. Terri's father, what a quality human being, what a loving man. Terri's stepmon, what a fabulous mom. You all deserve all the very best in life. You are all inspirational, all souls full of light and empathy and sensibility. Terri, your story really moved me. When I was in Nursing school, I took care of a teenager burn patient. I was by her side in all her days of struggles and days of glory. It was such a privilege for me to take care of her. She left a fingerprint in my heart forever. I learned so much from her resilience. You reminded me of her in many aspects. I hope you are living a life full of joy the way you deserve. Also, my gratitude for the nurses and doctors who took such a great care of Terri. This field of burns is such a deeply emotional one. God bless you all for the way you understand your patients and care for them with great skill and humanity.

This is truly an Inspirational story. I don’t know if I’ve ever witnessed a young lady quite this brave in all my life. She has such happiness and positivity within her. Her father has such love ❤️ and integrity. What a stand up man he is ! It’s hard to understand her moms choices in not being with her, I can understand the guilt and remorse, but for me, I don’t think walking away would be the answer, however, I’m only speaking for myself, I definitely have No right to judge her biological mom, nor anyone. But, it can feel like her mom wanted to come back into her life, when it seems the hardest part of caring for her was over. But again, that’s just an opinion….We do not truly know anyone until we’ve walk in their shoes. I pray the Very best for this remarkable young lady and her family…..Blessings. 🙏🏼❤️

Terri wow, she's beautiful inside and out....we complain about ourselves and then we see people like this courageous and hysterically 'funny' and outgoing young victim of tragic burns...and 'we' learn. We learn that our lives in comparison are a joyride. What really hurt me a Mom too, her Mother...."I'll always be there"....and yet....she walked away immediately? Look I understand her guilt, her cigarette started the fire, I get it but come on....walking away is more selfish than I can even begin to state. Terri's father! Wow....hero, gem, 'mensch' wonderful human being, their bond is remarkable and my gosh is he my hero 'too'. He's an incredible dad and Terri's oh so fortunate and lucky he stepped up. I wish them all the best, she's so beautiful. Amen to them.

Truly extraordinary. What a massive inspiration. As the theater nurse said , her father is an extraordinary man. Also mustn't forget the surgeon too. As he said they've grown up together and she is part of his extended family.

This is an old video. A bad mother for bringing a cigarette into her child's room. I wonder if Terri got any damage to her lungs from breathing the smoke. What's up with the audio going away at points?!

Ok, I'm sorry but just HOW are people expected to be educated on these things if anything that's not picture perfect is BLURRED? If you're someone that's easily squeamish then here's an idea - don't watch!!! If people are able to see the raw truth then maybe the message will spread far enough to make people think twice about the smoking in the same room as a baby i mean really.. I've had two and i smoke, but you'd never ever catch me inside the house with a lit cigarette. Ok i think I'm done 😊
