The problem with broadcasting your relationship... people don't see what's behind the scenes, most of the time it's just two attractive people looking cute together, professing their love in front of the camera and they think like, wow those two are goals. It's like watching a show; viewers grow emotionally attached to some characters over time and think that couples on their computer screens are all sprinkles and happy endings. When their favorites broke up, to them it's like killing off one character they love and pulling in a new character they know nothing about, so naturally they are going to do as viewers do, complain to the show runners. But they don't realize that you can't change the plot and write yourself back together with an ex in real life, and even if you can no one would do that because relationships end for a reason and it doesn't solve any problem you had.
