Would love to see you on a slightly bigger board so you can compare the 2 and let us know what you think. I can’t understand this obsession people have with riding tiny boards. Just cause rob rides tiny boards doesn’t mean everyone should. He’s a pro and weighs about 50kg soaking wet! I reckon this obsession is similar to Kelly ruining my teen surfing years because I absolutely had to have one of those stupid banana curve boards!

For me the 5'2 was around the volume I usually surf. I enjoy riding these boards from time to time, everyone is different though
@thekookshow38854 жыл бұрын
Honestly, couldn't have said it better myself. People other than the pros look so bloody awkward on them, not that I can talk with my surfing but I feel like rob should have the 5'10 or 5'11 in a lower ltr option... maybe around 33L

@@HowtoRip for the model you are on the right size. Ride a large fin i'm 63 kg and ride a medium fin. bigger fins more drive! also probably a large performer fin on that style of board would work better. it will be a game changer for sure!

I have had one for about 3 weeks. They rip in good 2-4 foot waves. It’s been pumping for the whole 3 weeks so I can’t comment on slop surf. It’s nothing like a biscuit. The Biscuit you could ride in 1/2 a foot wind swell. I froth on mine. If you had a biscuit and a glazer you have 85% of Aussie east coast waves covered

I agree, it definitely goes better with some quality

I just got the seaside 5’10 with 39 liters. Looking to get a Glazer also. What would you recommend on size? I’m 5’11 and 195 lbs. I don’t have a problem with the seaside catching waves. I’m still working on turns.

I’ve been riding a 6’0 seaside and I’ve been loving it for the progression and the speed, I was riding a 6’6 puddle jumper before that and even though the seaside is smaller it’s so much faster. I’ve been thinking of picking up a glazer for when the waves get a little better. Would you recommend going with the same size 6’0 or would it be better to match the volume? I’m a bit of a bigger guy around 90kg, but haven’t had any issues with the seaside. Just trying to get a rough idea.
@HowtoRip3 жыл бұрын
Always a tough question, if it was me I would probably stay the same. However your small wave boards are generally slightly higher in volume than your better wave boards. Maybe email them?
@brentontaylor91913 жыл бұрын
@@HowtoRip it was an opportunistic purchase off gumtree, I had my eye on a puddle jumper HP but it sold before I got to it then the glazer popped up, I guess it was meant to be. I’ve only surfed it once on a 3-4ft super clean sunset session a couple of weeks ago but it worked like a dream I think its similarities to the seaside helped, as I didn’t need to find the sweet spot it was just get up and go from the first wave. It got me thinking I could have gone a little shorter so the seaside, but that extra couple if litres really help when the waves are a bit weak & fat. Both are a good fit for my progression, and I’m noticing improvements with every season on the seaside. I may end up trying the seaside & beyond later in the year.

I love your channel! In this case though I definetely think you should have waited until youd had the right conditions for the board! It seems weird that your doing a rewiev saying that yeah this board might be great in different condtions, but it does not give us any answer at all. Seems more like commercial to me. Look at noel salas..... I think it is better that you release less content but quality than vice versa...What is your opinion on this feed-back?
@HowtoRip4 жыл бұрын
Hey Karl, there will be more videos showing this board in a variety of conditions. Considering there is footage of this board in Kellys wave pool, I thought it would be interesting to see it in sub par conditions. Thanks for the feedback, more to come on this one. It is definitely not a commercial.

Salas reviews his boards on perfect waves. But in aus/nz these are more typical of the conditions we experience here. It’s good to see a good surfer surfing less than perfect waves giving a good perspective of how the board will function in the real world. Not Noel sala’ss world or skill level. 🤔

If I surf a 30 liter thruster board, would you recommend get a Seaside with less, same, or more volume and by how many liters? Thanks!
@HowtoRip4 жыл бұрын
Everyone is different Nattapak. It depends how well your 30L thruster goes in smaller waves?
@dawsonbolus4 жыл бұрын
I'd go with 1-2L more volume as you'll most likely surf the seaside in less powerful waves and need the volume to fly over mushy flat sections
