the topic of plastic children’s toys is something i would love an entire, in-depth conversation on

I would really get worked up and worried about plastics if I wasn't convinced that global warming was going to cause our extinction long before plastics.

Theo Colborn wrote incredible material on endocrine disruptors decades ago. She along with many other scientists were yelling but no one listened. Her idea that the petro industry will fight this at all cost is THE elephant in the room. The proposal to heat plastic in order to degrade it goes against all logic because of the off-gassing. Thanks for all of your hard work, we need to know the facts and how to go from here. I remember when Prell came out in plastic! Fancy stuff.

Also, the endocrine disruptors showed there's not a linear scale for damage, that endocrine disruptors exposure is a hockey stick scale. However, the LD50 is still used.

I have a temporary but very useful solution to plastic waste. This is actually art of my business plans, but for the sake of nature I am open source about it. LDPE would probably hold center stage in this design because it is very widely used and has a very low melting point and is very recyclable. Get all of your plastics to be recycled. crush and chop it all into small fragments. You are actually turning it into a type of aggregate, so sand sized particles is great. Then you test your mixed granular plastics to check there is sufficient LDPE in the mix, if not, you add more LDPE until there is enough of it. Plastics have different melting points and mixing capabilities, but when melted together like this, the LDPE will be among the first plastics to start liquifying. So from this point on, liken the LDPE goop as wet cement and the unmelted plastic granuals as sand in the cement. Now you have this liquid plastic goop, it is time to turn it into something extremely useful. I name it FoamPlas. It joins the family of useful products in the class of aerogel, foamcrete and foamglass. Essentially, we need to fill it with enough air bubbles, so that it is very buoyant and the pour it out into molds to set. In your mind, imagine a squared off surf board in rough dimensions and the scale would be the size of the solar you intend to use... Once you have your Foamplas boards, now it is time to dip them in latex. Natural latex is not offensive to nature, and as a coating for these Foamplas boards, they protect the plastic from the environ and the environ from the plastic. We probably need to add a small amount of admixture, I am thinking raspberry seed oil, to make the latex far more resistant to UV. We can now attach a suitable solar panel on top and have it floating on our canals and rivers and lakes making power. after the panel has been in service for a while and the latex is in serious need of attention. you just pull the panel aboard a service boat that slices all but the thinnest layer off and redips it in fresh latex. The micro plastic contaminated latex now gets sent to another division, which is about blending the latex with biochar that has been innoculated with plastic eating bacteria. this entire package is now a soil ammendment that contains all of the wonderful perks of biochar and the ability to turn fossil plastic into the living carbon cycle. I understand that we now have the ability to print solar panels. The ones I have been looking at use an organic ink to do the job and is printed on a thin plastic sheet. It would not be difficult to use the ink and swap out the plastic for some plant based polymer, to make a form of solar panel that is truly solar punk and compatible with lots of long and thin foamplas floats. The final product is something we can print hundreds of miles of that locks plastic away until we can get nature to eat it all, we can make an insane amount of solar to power generation, we print enough of it and we can change the energy balance, and it can offer shade in heat danger locations. For example, if we examine the currents that flow over our corals, we can make floating solar islands 'upstream' from the corals to shade the water that will later flow over the corals. the coral gets all of its light still but the water itself is cooler when it hits them. this entire thing could become very automated and scalable and the material and energy costs to benefit are an epic advantage to the human race if we get behind it. This is the only time I am going to write this. I have been shaping my life for the last two years to go on my own trajectory in all of this... I am sharing this idea as a mercy to humanity to take or leave as they please. I will be running with it asap.

I think back when DDT, the ozone hole and those other things he mentioned happened, humanity still agreed on facts more or less. They just disagreed with what to do about them. Now we’re in a very different and infinitely stupider scenario.

To be effective, a Treaty on Plastics requires governments worldwide to pressure the petrochemical industry to finance research into biodegradable packing products. The Biosphere is Finite, but Greed is Infinite.

What would you replace plastic with? Wood and paper will increase deforestation. Metal and glass require a lot more energy to produce than plastic. Glass is also very fragile and plant fibres, wood and paper all rot in landfill and release methane.

Children today do not know that our parents were happy in their childhood playing with wooden toys, and later created more wooden toys as they grew up. If a teenager today does not have a mobile phone (has plastic) his/her status is not that good. But then again, wooden toys would imply less trees, therefore more pollution and so on and so forth. At least teach your children to recycle what is recyclable, probably in the meantime the plastic-eating bugs will do the job.

- We live in the same climate as it was 5 million years ago - I have an explanation regarding the cause of the climate change and global warming, it is the travel of the universe to the deep past since May 10, 2010. Each day starting May 10, 2010 takes us one thousand years to the past of the universe. Today April 05, 2024 the state of our universe is the same as it was 5 million and 79 thousand years ago. On october 13, 2026 the state of our universe will be at the point 6 million years in the past. On june 04, 2051 the state of our universe will be at the point 15 million in the past. On june 28, 2092 the state of our universe will be at the point 30 million years in the past. On april 02, 2147 the state of our universe will be at the point 50 million years in the past.
