"Rather be crazy than to take these pills, I'm sick of being ok against my will" Those lines hit hard for me
@jesse137964 жыл бұрын
As someone suffering from Bi Polar disorder it really does hit me like a brick. Being manic can feel so much better than being stable, even to the point where the low depressive episodes are worth it just to feel the hights of mania. I don't want to be just okay, especially against my will. I want to feel on top of the world like I do in the depths of a manic episode.

My uncle had a very tough life, he had everything at one point and watched it all get taken away. Me and him had always been able to go to eachother for things we couldn’t go to others for. I remember one Christmas the whole family was together for the first time in a long time, and we were chilling on the porch alone with the radio on when this song came on. He cranked it up as high as it and sang the chorus with me. He gave me a hug and said “we’re okay man, we’re all a little fucked up.” That will always be one of my favorite moments with him when he was alive, and I still get very emotional hearing it.

It’s odd how much this song resonates with my feelings during depression, it feels like the whole world is coming down on you and it’s a fight to the death only, you are the villain.
@skribble68613 жыл бұрын
Its a shared sentiment to be honest. I prefer to look at it as you have been possessed by the depression demon. Deep down you aren't the villain at all. Just a vehicle for the demon to materialize. Each day you wake up and try to get through another day is a victory, a victory that will weaken the demon over time. Depression demons reside in alot of people. It thrives on negativity. But you've made it through another day while writing this and hopefully many, Many more by the time i got to see this. Youre not alone. Stay strong, friend. One day at a time 🤗🤙

The song's basic meaning: desperate people do desperate things. The solution for the powers-that-be to avoid a big chunk of society doing desperate things is not oppressing them even further and thus increasing their desperation, it's to alleviate the desperation. But either way, the downtrodden never stay downtrodden, power balances out sooner or later inevitably. What the powers-that-be need to decide is whether they want to use their power to alleviate desperation, thus fixing the imbalance one way, or to do nothing, and then the downtrodden take the power away, thus fixing the imbalance the other way. It all works out in the end.

@EAS bah, we do. Rap and hip hop is only more prevalent in our poo culture because it's easier to produce so the record companies keep pumping it out. Cheap and easy is what the USA likes to sell to it's people. That's why we have so many fast food restaurants. Cheap and easy. Companies make millions off deal. Over here it's about quantity instead of quality and it's sad. That doesn't mean we don't like quality though it's just that we take what we can get sometimes
