Hawks is one of the most contradictory characters in the series. He is a man that goes outside of the norm of an average hero but he also works the most with the government. He is a man who doesn't hold back but is also an expert liar. He believes hero society should have treated people like twice better and yet is willing to kill him. I think that hawks in many ways shows how messed up this system and really hope that he survives the current arc for further development.

To me one of the most interesting aspects of mha is the problematic of this hero society and heroism that each character symbolizes (being All Might, Deku, Endeavor, Ochaco, Stain, Kirishima, Mirio... each character embodies an aspect of what the term "hero" could be in this universe). And Hawks ideal of a world where heroes can be bored, his admiration for endeavor's efforts, and his keen eye concerning the need of a symbol of piece and thus the role he plays in endeavors' ascension.

Hawks isn't just a reference to Angel, but he also takes traits from Robin. He's the light-hearted, bird-themed foil to the prickly Endeavor, who is basically the Batman to All Might's Superman. His attractiveness and carefree attitude in the field are traits that fit Dick Grayson when he's Nightwing. However, his perceptiveness is similar to Tim Drake, the Third Robin, who also looked up to Batman as a kid like Hawks looked up to Endeavor.

KutieTenshi45 my personal theory; Dabi aka. Touya Todoroki. I think that endeavour might have signed him up for the Programm but Touyas body couldn’t take it. And what happens to the ones that just can’t take it? They get rid of them. Maybe they thought he was dead but he survived and ended up becoming a villain. This would explain his burning (sry couldn’t help myself) hatred for hero society and the committee in general. This would also explain that he introduced hawks to the league in the first place. If they knew each other from the program, Dabi knows that Hawks went through the same thing, which is why it would be reasonable for him to share a secret hatred for the committee. Hawks just might not remember Dabi (and I mean he has changed his look and probably his demeanour quite significantly) also he could just believe that he is dead, which is probably what he was told (like he burned himself to death, he died during one of the training sessions or something)

Hello, idk if anyone else caught onto this but I think another element of Hawks' design (the blond angel with red wings) is inspired by the Tarot card for Temperance. According to Google, the temperance card means one must learn balance, moderation, and that one must avoid extremes and take the middle road. The upright way predicts balance, moderation, harmony and the reverse card predicts illness, disharmony, and lack of patience. Everything sums up Hawks fairly well.

The duality of his quirk suits him so well- the flashy, fast, sharp form of feathers is what everyone sees, but it's actually more important that they can be used subtly to gather information. Without the sensory ability he couldn't use feathers without looking directly at them and even then they would be very imprecise because he couldn't feel the air currents that would push on them.

Now seeing the desc, I actually did start to read the manga because of hawks. I thought he was a really cool character so I was like " Fuck it, I'm finding an online bnha manga " I feel really bad for him though, I don't know exactly why but from what I tell myself already I assume he probably has depression or some major issues with one thing or another, it's not hard to guess seeing that he's probably under a lot of pressure living a side life and trying to keep everything a secret. If I had to deal with that I would probably be extremely self destructive of my health. I don't know why I feel so bad for someone who doesn't exist, it's kinda stupid but a lot of these things remind me of some of the problems I have. I mean, I've always been the kind of person to help others with their problems, it's almost like I'm fixing my own when I do, if that makes any sense ¯\_( ' -- ' )_/¯ Ah well anyway, I should probably get my dumbass to bed because it's 4:00am. Have a good afternoon.

Apparently if I’m not crazy, then I was listening to both Meti’s speech and a game OST from Touhou 8 called “Reach for the Moon ~ Immortal Smoke”, the them of Fujiwara no Mokou. Why, you may ask? I think the similarity to make Meti put the theme in it was that Mokou had the ability to control fire and possess immortality, and what shares those 2? A phoenix. And a phoenix can be seen as a mythical creature that takes form of a bird. And hawks’s quirk is bird’s wings.
