Excellent! As a person who has suffered from myofascial pain issues for 20 yrs, I'm very EXCITED to see your videos. I've only recently (like within the past 6 months) been having issues with this portion of my body--and the issues are so deep, we just haven't been able to deal with them. This is an awesome video, and you can NEVER know how much I appreciate it!!!

As a physical therapist I see this to often be a powerful place to treat for people who have not had relief. Often they've seen their primary physician, a spine surgeon, a neuro surgeon, a chiropractor, and a physical therapist. The patient says they have back pain so the healthcare practitioner looks at the spine. Once we bark up the right tree the patient has amazing relief. Sometimes I also see pain down the leg that is similar to "sciatica" or "piriformis syndrome". Why the pain mimics the sciatic nerve pattern and is unknown, but treating that trigger point as described above is very powerful. I treat it with acupuncture needles using a technique physical therapist call "dry needling", but the major key is to treat that trigger point and awesome results happen if this is the primary cause of their problem.

I love the clamshell exercise, stretching, and manual interventions for treating this. Adding resistance on the bike and standing could definitely cause this. That's not to say doing so is a bad thing, but you'll have to be proactive to keep the pain down.

A-B duction is usually pronounced that way to differentiate it from AD-duction. The "mispronunciation" is intentional.

AND...the pain does not go away..You are just helping the muscle to break up and stop spasming yes? I watched a Chiropractor video and he seemed to be bale to turn the pain off by aligning the patient which takes the pressure off the nerve. Do you have an opinion on their approach vs what you demonstrate?
