I am stating the obvious here, but that was a marathon of a walk. My wife just happened to me looking over my shoulder at this one and was quite concerned in case Mandy should fall. I said that you both are as sure footed a mountain goats. Thanks for showing us a walk that I would not be able to do myself and I consider myself to be very fit for a 71 year old. We are touring parts of Wales on the bikes again in 3 weeks time and the Snowdonia area is on the list. Best wishes from North Devon. Mike.

Thanks Mike, the hardest walk we have ever done to date and in 27-30 degree temp, we drank 6 liters of water and ran out of water at the last 3 miles, what were we thinking in that heat, however the views were the best Snowdonia had to offer, best wishes Mike from Epic Walks Wales.

I Just stumbled upon this video and I can't tell you how impressed I am with you two....you'd leave most youngsters behind these days, they're just not bred the same nowadays. I read the last comment and your reply, that heat must have been intense and draining. Great filming, editing, music and all the rest of it....fabulous. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to both of you, from Yorkshire.

Great walk , I walked up Snowdon 3 days before you via the rangers path, was up there by 7.30am , we also walked up two smaller hills on the Llyn Peninsula which were really nice and great for kids , nice and quiet too . Really nice video, good on you both .

I did the similar route yesterday but clockwise and went up Tryfan via south ridge, Glyder Fach and came down through Devil’s Kitchen. The was brutal! I surely understand how you feel, well done Anthony!

Thank you Alex, it was brutal in the blistering heat, we took 6 litres of water and ran out of water on the last mile, however we have done this on a cool day no problem, don't think we will do a gruelling long walk in 27-30 degrees temperature again.

Hello Mandy and Jeff. You seem to have done this walk on the hottest day of the year! At least it seems the usual crowds stayed away in their droves though. Did this walk some 4 years ago. Came down that horrible steep scree and became crag-fast for two or three minutes before I could get started again 😵. Coming down Devil's Kitchen was a doddle. Now that I'm over 75 not sure I could do it again. Fantastic post again thank you. Doesn't the Covid pandemic have a lot to answer for?

Hello Jack, many thanks for your kind comments, we have done this walk twice before no problems, but this time we nearly failed due to the recorded 27 to 30 degree temp, what were we thinking we ran out of water with 3 miles to go, between the heat and lack of fitness due to COVID lockdowns we just about made it back to the car, but the views were well worth the near death experience, take care Jack and best wishes from Epic Walks Wales.

Loved your video so much that we planned to do the exact trail last Saturday. Unfortunately the car parks were full with cars etc waiting for a space so we travelled back up the road and found a parking space next to Tryfan ... So we climbed Tryfan instead 😁. Will be back next month a little earlier to do your route up the Glyders.

Hi Andrew, many thanks for your kind words, this is a hard route for the Glyders, some go the shorter and easier ways up the way we came down and some go up the scree at the top by Llyn y Cwn but the way we went is the most scenic route albeit harder, because its hard but scenic I would advise you to check that the weather and visibility is good for the day and start early so you get good photos, take care Andrew and all the very best from Epic Walks Wales.

Hello Ida, thank you very much for your kind words, we have done this walk twice before no problem but this time was hard mainly due to the day being so hot and humid, take care from Epic Walks Wales.

Wonderful scenery and video. The top is especially stunning. Is there a way to walk the half top part without having to do the full walk?
@mandyanthonyepicwalkswales79742 жыл бұрын
Many thanks Roni for your kind words, there maybe a gentler route somewhere fom the A5 road down at the Ogwen valley, but I don't think there is an easy way up at all, the scree route that most people go up the top near Llyn y Cwn is a shorter route but is also hard, I have seen some walk up from the East side coming from the A5 road direction somewhere down at the Ogwen Valley but I have not tried that route out, I will investigate one day.

How long did it take?So many steep and rugged paths..

Hi Ida, about 8 hours, but we stopped many times for food and water, talking to people and of course filming time, the route we took is a long walk but offers the best views.
