I studied at Shirecliffe College in Sheffield in the early 1970’s. Two friends from my year took part in this film as extras . Always thought the music mesmeric . Same composer as Le Mans from 1971. Deeply emotional. God bless.

Thanks Carlo for this - I thought years ago as an early teenager that this was fabulous music without quite knowing why. it is partly a well-constructed fugue, and the music overall leads surely and perfectly up to the final denouement.

Yes, I agree - a fugue worthy to grace any Baroque event from Bach to Mozart, and so appropriate for the drama leading up to the final shocking climax of the film.
