You made a good point (and something I cam around on, after buying an AD400 and then returning it). Since I owned one AD200 already, buying a second one and a flash bracket made more sense than the AD400. I don't always need 400ws and the extra second of recycle time for the AD200's is not critical for me at least. I'd rather have two lights that are versatile than a single light that puts out more power. I have 400ws if I need it from the two AD200's and two 200ws lights when I don't. Plus the AD200's pack light and if you have an issue with one, you essentially have a backup light (if you're not using the B2 bracket). Where the AD400 probably shines over dual AD200's is setup time and recycle time (1s versus about 2s) and is probably better suited if you're on the go a lot and need to setup and tear down quickly, although I do like the B2 bracket more for heavier softboxes because it's not really putting any stress on the lights themselves, and if the bracket breaks, it's only about $60 for a new one. ON the AD400 the bulk of the weight of a large softbox falls on the light's modifier mount (even if you're using the Bowens mount adapter), plus the B2 bracket probably balances better with larger softboxes.

I was on the fence about getting the ad400 for that extra power but since I already own a ad200 it makes more sense and would be more versatile for me to purchase another ad200 plus the accessory. Great video. One of the issues I have in my dark studio is large pupil size because an AD200's modeling light isn't bright enough. I'm betting the AD-B2's modeling lights will remedy that.
