Yes you did not see any flip flop wearing sweat pants steering wheel holders back then! I trucked back then ,everybody communicated with each each other and helped one another, and everybody spoke English. God Bless

I've said it before and I'll say it again, those were the days when trucking had style. When men took pride and honor in their work and the rigs they drove.

At 1:14 I’d like to have the late 50s early 60s Panhead the cop was riding!

42 years OTR...ask some of these youngsters if they know what a Jap Freightliner was, or a crackerbox? How about double clutching or a 2 stick bulldog? As the old rock n' roll song goes..."Those were the days, my friend, we thought they'd never end..."

I drove some POS trucks when I started, took a few years to get in a new truck, today new drivers get a new truck without earning it. First truck I drove was a 65 Kenworth COE, 220 no hairdryer, put a new driver in something like that today they wouldn’t last 50 miles.

50 miles, shit they wouldn't make it to the gate. These young cry babies wouldn't even consider driving some of the trucks we had to drive. First truck I drove was a 46 White with a 220 and a 4 and 3 then drove a 57 A car and was glad to get it. It had 262 with a 4 and a 3, those were the days when a driver was a real driver. Oh yeah, this all took place in 1968 for me, and I enjoyed going to work every trip. These young bucks don't know how good they have it.
