UUUUHHHHH - You dropped this video only after a few games in 2014 right?. Because I am amazed that you totally called it. Nobody was calling it that early. You and Mychal Thompson (klays dad), the only people I ever heard say the warriors could win it all in 2014. Mychal said it was championship or bust that year, and he sounded nuts. Good lord man, you must really be good at this. I just assumed you knew what you were talking about most of the time. You should go back and make a "Brag" video showing all the times you got stuff completely right. The TV talking heads never go back to all their old provocations, cause they would get exposed. You, on the other hand, i think you would have a pretty good record of predicting the types of things that unfold each year.

I see this video on my home page from time to time and enjoy coming back to it. What got me into this channel was his breakdown of the Warriors/Lakers game when Kobe tore his achilles. That video humbled me a lot because that game was full of so much bs but i will always remember coach's words, "you gotta play through all that". Took that to heart. Coach Nick has a lot of good wisdom and he has been right on most things. Still not on the Harrison Barnes bandwagon though he's a good guy, I don't think he'll pan out to be what Coach envisions.

Garrett Henze kerr is a puppet. Look at what brown and walton did, kerr's system didn't win those games. The players are that good. Jackson took a lottery team to six games against a spurs team that should have won it all. Then, seven against a better clips team. It takes time and they were on their way.

I did went to Warriors open practice last season and Coach Kerr even said that he likes to take plays from very good teams such as the Spurs and the Jazz when he used to play against them. The whole idea is so that we wouldn't need to rely on only Curry and Thompson to drop big numbers night in and night out, it clearly worked very well since Draymond, Barnes and even Iggy can all drop 20 points a piece let alone the bench. Have you even noticed most of the games last season and this season Warriors usually score more than a 100 points as final scores? It is unreal!!! lol

So basically, Steve Kerr is responsible for all this record breaking and Steph Curry being this great. I knew it! I thought I was the only one who realised how the Warriors went from good (51-31) to great (67-15) in just one season without a major signing. The hero here is Steve Kerr. He developed a style of play for the Warriors that complemented their talents (the 3 point shot) and thus we have a record breaking team, courtesy of their superior court spacing and ball movement. You called it coach!

Thanks for the teaser coach. I know people will say its preseason but the Warriors roster are built for a structured offense like this. It already helps accentuate the strengths of the team; Steph being an off ball cutter with the ability to get more catch-and-shoot opportunities but also take advantage of the other players and their abilities. Klay possibly developing his passing and maybe Harrison Barnes gets his confidence back to play some lineups with the Splash Brothers. Once that is ironed out, Coach Kerr just has to use the regular season to test out different lineups.

This is how a Coach can change the destiny of a team. MJ was too much into post up, given he was that type of player, but when your team has so much talent, like Kerr has said, in addition to great passing big men, just like Coach Nick said it flows perfectly.

Coming from a 49ers fan, the Warrior's situation reminds me much like that of when the Niners fired Singletary and hired Jim Harbaugh.. Singletary = Mark Jackson Both established a defensive culture and brought the team together through Faith and belief that they can win. Great "player's coaches" that took the time to relate to his players and bring the locker together. All though those were positive, They both lacked in establishing a premier coaching staff and lacked the ability "coach". Poor game management, lack of identifying the teams/player's strengths and utilizing them and not having a balance between on and off the field/court success. NOW we (the WARRIORS) have Steve Kerr that has taken the Warriors to the NEXT LEVEL. Currently the #1 team in the NBA and at the top of the rankings in terms of OFFENSIVE and DEFENSIVE ratings! How? But putting together an amazing and experienced staff and understanding that in order for him to be successful as a coach, he needs to surround himself with a coaching staff that wins by committee! Also, he has been able to recognize what the TEAM's strengths are and what each player can bring to the table, and has allowed them to play according to their skill set. I compare KERR to Harbaugh because of what they did to enhance and elevate both organizations to an ELITE LEVEL! I'm looking forward to seeing the Warriors continue to dominate! This is FUN!

And people said Steve Kerr had no room to move into a head coach position. He clearly understands offensive spacing. I think he will even do well in post season despite never coaching in that situation before. Where I'm worried is on the defensive side of things. He didn't get as many awesome lessons on D throughout his career, relying on the athletic ability of the players around him more to make plays.

We've discussed my opinions on Jackson before - great motivator but far too unwilling to embrace change/guidance or run anything resembling a creative offense. You're 100% right in your breakdown here, Coach, last season's Warriors could have beaten the Clips without Bogut if they had only had some serious options on offense, instead of isos in the post and relying on Curry bail-outs. Bogut was healthy last year until he got a broken rib off an Ibaka elbow (iirc), so hopefully his actual injury concerns are managed this season, hopefully with a healthy Ezeli backing him up. I don't think the Conf Finals are an unrealistic goal, yet you could say the same for five other teams... #ImIn

Chad Ford chimed in on what he saw with the Warriors so far. He likes the movement, but he saw a lot of needless turnovers. Turnovers most likely generated from the new offense and players just being careless. But then again David Lee's absence may have an issue with it but one thing is true though. If the needless turnovers are cut down, you are going to see some real beautiful and consistent offense.

What's your opinion on the guard split off the post entry vs. having the speed cut along the baseline you'd see in Chicago and LA when Phil/Tex were there?
@bballbreakdown
@bballbreakdown 9 жыл бұрын
Fantastic question! When I first started teaching the triangle, the split was how the book showed it, even though the Bulls and Lakers utilized speed cuts. I love the split, and the rule was the passer sets the screen. Very difficult to guard...
@pointguard40

BBALLBREAKDOWN Yeah, I have the book. Loved the split, but when I went back and watched the old Bulls games I have, it's all speed cuts and I just figured that Tex had updated the offense a little. Always liked the way the split worked into the down screen or back screen for a shot so naturally.

abprepboy33 I highly doubt they miss the playoffs without Bogut. They still have good guys working the perimeter and they can get a decent big body to double as a poor mans rim protector, not to mention the offensive efficiency would work wonders for their offense. Making it out first round is another matter.

2:55 It's INSANE that curry didnt do off ball much, that's what we call Technology in Economics, you rearrange the pieces you already have for more efficient production, and sometimes things can get VERY fast. And look at skinny curry!!! 😂 forgot he used to handle the ball like that and he was SO QUICK; it's weird to see Klay being the only one running off ball, that really shows how teams were primed to keep repeating set tactics.

Great video coach. I got a question for Fantasy: with this new offence would Steph Curry be a better pickup than say Westbrook (who I think will do great numbers in the absence of KD and he almost averages a trip double with him) or Chris Paul?

***** Oh yeah 100%. I'd say curry is the nb 3 pick right now (1 bron 2. Davis 3. Curry)

Based from last night's game, big man passing is their strength. The triangle was fantastic for Thompson as he scored 35. In my opinion, the less Curry handles the ball as in dribbling and passing (sometimes) the better the Warriors will be (Less T.O.)

Looks like Klay will handle the ball a bit more, and he's improved in this. Great insight! #ImIn

Coach, what can you tell us about Klay Thompson's shooting? I don't see the turn, the sway or the dip, do you think that even a shooter like him can benefit a lot from this techniques?
@bballbreakdown
@bballbreakdown 9 жыл бұрын
He's got a little dip usually, about 4 or5 inches. I think he also has a turn, but let me check with ProShot. Let's see...
