The real answer is these cars are designed simply and without planned obsolescence in mind. Most of these crappy modern cars are designed to run juuuuust long enough for people to be willing to buy a new car. And it's not just cars it's tools, electronics, etc... Even servicing cars itself becomes a headache when they are filled with deliberately difficult to work with electronics, and proprietary nonsense. The problem is bad enough I should point out, my state literally had to make a law that companies provide diagnostic data to preserve some semblance of right to repair. I should also point out, I don't even like cars, and I think it's a travesty how many things humanity has given up for them, not to mention the mental health costs of them in urban areas... I like this channel because it's funny and educational, but I am as far from a car enthusiast as someone can get. But I'm not going to accept someone selling something faulty or designed to fail because they want a quick buck. Especially something as unfortunately necessary as a car because so much rail infrastructure has been torn up in service to the almighty car that there are many places it is functionally impossible to live without one.

FYI The Proton SAGA BLM aka GOOBER gets a lot of shit back in Malaysia for how bad 'performance wise' it is. But contrary to popular belief meaning, it's actually a reliable car. Can go more than 400,000 KM without the need of changing an engine or major overhaul if kept well maintained. Still got the Proton Persona from 2006 that has 350,000 with the same 1.6L S4PH engine and it just need a new thermostat and coolant pipe.
