It's a relatively young industry (in the context of the law), so the justice system has to play catch-up. I recently graduated from law school, I specialized in Gaming (Gambling) law, since I live in Las Vegas. The CSGO scandal was talked about for a very long time in classes. We didn't get how they could get away with it, especially encouraging kids to gamble. I watched a video of a kid who had lost like $1500 from gambling, and kept stealing his parents money, it was clear his parents were rich and didn't care about him, BUT still. To be 15 and to already have all the problems and emotions of a gambling addict. That is harsh. At a time when LV is looking towards pushing betting on esports (I worked on a bill last semester that is allowing betting on esports pari-mutuel) we don't need scandals like this making the overall industry look bad. There are already laws and regulations which make things like CSGO lotto totally illegal, we just need to shut them down and move the gambling market to where its regulated. Its actually kind of ridiculous we have laws against online gambling, and we don't open it up like Europe so we can regulate the market and make sure people are of age.

Tangentially related here, I wonder if how we look at celebrities and reality TV has anything to do with it? I think there's a general acceptance of "this would be awful in real life" or "this is bad when you think about it" for at least a fair amount of people (definitely not all or even a majority), but because the viewers are viewing it as entertainment, it's become fine to just pass it off for show. If someone imitates it or gets damaged by it, whether it's something like this or imitating something they saw on TV not realizing it wasn't real, I imagine it then becomes the fault of the person or the parents rather than the person encouraging the behavior. So maybe in this respect, we've sort of become desensitized to it? I don't know, just spitballing here.

What Jim believes is largely irrelevant considering he barely brings up the topic of immigration at all because it isn't relevant, let alone stating specifics like "we need absolute open borders" which I don't believe he's ever said. In any case: *Whites are not becoming a minority (in Europe) much less an oppressed one anytime soon. Some people being assholes towards you sometimes is not oppression.* Come back when you can statistically prove people with white-sounding names are less likely to get jobs, for example, and _then_ we can have a discussion about your oppression. *Immigration, while not always okay in every circumstance and can, and in many countries indeed is an issue, has essentially never **_not_** been overblown.* Immigrants have been an easy scapegoat for authoritarian populists to blame since politics first came into existence. If your economy isn't doing well it's almost never _actually_ because of immigrants, and in fact immigration is an important part of a functioning economy. *As for "cultural degradation" the absolute fuck are you on about?* Graffiti having the gall to exist within 30 feet of you is not the end of the world. Pretty much all of these effects have little to do with immigration and far more to do with modernisation, and trust me, I'll be shedding tears over ancient Irish artisan wool weaving becoming a lost art too, I guess. *Consider how many human rights you would be willing to sacrifice for "muh culture" because to be frank freedom of movement is perhaps even MORE important than freedom of speech.* Without freedom of movement, you get North Korea where a state has a captive populace and you cannot leave the country if you don't like living there. Compromising this because some nebulous "culture" shit (just come out and say if you're a 'race realist' or not) is absolute idiocy. (this is NOT to equate this with "open every border". It is to say that if someone wants to move to another country they should be able to accomplish that within reason, and that denying them this because of their skin colour is fucking disgusting)
@PKM10105 жыл бұрын
@ Dude, you need to stop browsing 4chan. Yes, people will have probably have slightly darker skin on average in the future, that's all. If you keep framing them as some sort of invaders it only speaks volumes about you. Do you honestly think if someone is not 100% white, they wake up and think "I NEED TO DESTROY THE WHITE RACE" or maybe, maybe, they wake up and think "I wanna stay in bed" like every other person because that's what they are? They have their lives, families and worries, and they don't orbit around you, or your artificial identity attached to the colour of your skin?

KZbin is here to make money, they do this by selling adds, if their advertisers aren't happy KZbin has to do something or collapse. People who work in digital entertainment have know something like this was coming because if research done into the effectiveness of KZbin adds but KZbin's poster boy driving advertisers away doesn't help either. This is about what advertisers want associated with their brand and frankly they have every right to be picky, it's their money that makes KZbin profitable enough to pay these KZbinrs and their brand reputation that's on the line. It seems like some people completely missed that and got hung up on blaming SJWs and censorship when it's about advertisers not wanting to pay KZbinrs anymore to damage their reputation.

Not as disgusting as sharing child porn in KZbin because a fan accepted to show her tits. Oh yes, that happened. (Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying that those youtubers shouldn't be punish) Summary of the incident: The incident involves spanish KZbin Channels.Mainly two Harugames(HG) and DylanteroSinImaginacion (DSI). DSI is a youtuber that criticises other YT videos. He found out a trend of videos where the KZbinr Trolls a perveted girl in Minecraft, (Is DallasReview part of this trend? IDK). DSI makes fun of this type of videos and explains why they are fake hoping that children will learn. However, he was contacted by a girl (who was 14 at the time i think) who told him that one of the videos was sharing her pictures, the uploader of the video was HG. DSI then started investigating and contact with former friends of HG, who confirm that he knew that the girl was underage and that it was in fact her. After that DSI confronted HG in a skype call, (this conversation is available in DSI's channel), during the interview HG deleted his video. And needles to say he was defensive of the type of content that he was doing and try to put some of the blame to the girl, which don't get me wrong she did something stupid to say the least. But the girl at least knows and undertands she did something wrong. Oh and i forgot to mention HG was 21 at the time and the download link was behind three adlinks intermediaries. So YT was literally used to profit on Childporn. As for Harugames, his channel is dead. However, there are mirrors of some of his original videos. All of them under the same topic.

He should have called out WSJ and other journals for taking PDPs videos out of context in order to slander him then.
@engineboiii82947 жыл бұрын
It's quite sad really, the other day I watched one of PewDiePie's vlogs where he outright says he doesn't deserve the amount of subs he has. And now that he's seen how KZbin as a platform and the content creators that inhabit it have changed, he wishes he was more smalltime. He makes edgier jokes and is always pushing the boundaries for his audience, often forgetting how big he really is. If he deleted his channel and tried rebranding and starting new he'd probably still get big. I feel bad.
@Romandy134 жыл бұрын
3 years later and while he is still the most subscribed to KZbinr on the platform, he still has that reserved mentality when it comes to his fanbase. No pictures allowed and no appearances at conventions. He even started giving out the exclusive members subscription for fans so that he can still have that small fanbase feel. I've always never felt that he was a huge KZbinr, except for the points when he becomes viral. And I'm glad he operates the way be does.

@EkkieEkk7 жыл бұрын
Mohamed Hassan was he referring to their race? No? Then it wasn't in a racist way.
@danjo20807 жыл бұрын
Yes, that is a form of casual ableism. Using a racial slur as a pejorative is specifically NOT using the term in a "non racist way". The term ITSELF inherently refers to race. A white man using it pejoratively is specifically referring to blackness as an inferiority. And that's what's fucked up. That's what's wrong with this.

@arthurbrandonnielsen7 жыл бұрын
Three separate observations: -This was so full of sarcasm it was funny that it wasn't even funny. -Politicians are still crusading against video games. The Jack Thompsons of the world will never go away. -I wouldn't mind an ESRB style rating system for KZbin (it would probably help), but I would want the creators to have control over it, like how bloggers flag their blog posts or fiction/fanfiction writers tag their writing. There can still be consequences for those who breach EULA, COC, and TOS, but there needs to be power given to creators, not more power taken away.
@LittleNemoGaming7 жыл бұрын
THIS. An ESRB rating style would be perfect if selected by creators, and it would give an up front visible way of showing both creators and advertisers what kind of content would be in the video. So companies who advertise during Criminal Minds, CSI, Law & Order, and NCIS types of shows, or the news, should have no issue with their ads on news/current event shows, or videogames that have violence in them etc.

Given your history I'm surprised there wasn't more reaction to another developer weaponizing DMCA take downs. Sean Vanaman if fully within his rights to come out and condemn PDP for his comments but it's not his right to improperly use the law and encourage others also to do the same thing because he didn't like what someone has said.
@TheZephyrNation7 жыл бұрын
Jezz I don't how the discussion in the comments has gotten so offtrack... Its pretty obvious that Jim is not calling pewdiepie a racist at all throughout this video but rather is upset with his lack of tact he knows that people are watching his every move waiting for him to screw up so they can post 10 click bait articles about how pewdiepie said the n word and yet he still goes and does it. Its clear that Jim is bemoaning the lack of responsibility that pewdiepie has he doesn't consider how his words and actions have an impact on the whole youtube and that is what is really damming sure pewdiepie won't suffer from this but what about everyone else? The rest of the community suffers for the selfish and inconsiderate actions of one person. I get where Jim is coming from with this why is it so hard for everyone else to get it?

"KZbin community" does that really need to be explained? Maybe you don't make a living out of youtube nor do I but some do and when advertisement revenues go down because companies need to "review" their terms it does have a negative impact on people with smaller channels maybe not pewdiepie but other people will feel it.

Pewdiepie has consistently made racist jokes about Jews, the Holocaust and black people over his entire career. He's used Nazi imagery multiple times. I don't think a rating system for KZbin would be a bad idea. Like maybe similar to how it is on TV; Y, Y7, G, PG, 14, and MA. This is where an automated system would actually be useful, I think, where it could scan the video, search for language, violence, etc, and issue it a rating based on what it found. Just a thought.
@Ash-op2ql7 жыл бұрын
Dark Mountain Productions I mean, they kinda already have that though where you have to sign in and prove your age for certain videos and there's KZbin kids for even younger audiences. I don't inherently disagree with you, I think with the internet and all of us lying to be old enough to get a Facebook at one time or another makes it hard to verify age. And then on top of that you've still got parents taking little kids to movies (or tv shows$ they shouldn't see, despite the age warning. And then subsequently bitching that deadpool isn't little kid appropriate.

All these people screaming about free speech issues without realizing KZbin actually does have the right to just say "No, you can't upload anything overtly racist or in support of racist groups", because big corporations have spent a long fucking time making sure they CAN control the content associated with their brand.

When a company this big and financially backed by the government (yes google is govt backed) exists, they are no longer an "individual" nor should they be considered as such. For the most part companies are treated as People. KZbin, much like Twatter is an unofficial superpac. Though it's a lot worse with the govt. funding. They team up with The Young Turks (Named after the people responsible for the Armenian genocide) and then browbeat any opinions to the right of Marx. Also don't even get me started on how all the featured guys such as Jimmey Kimmel, and Colbert somehow *dont have to follow the same rules as everyone else?* Good old Nepotism. Seriously watch ANY of their videos with an adblocker off. They can keep their ads, and they're already super fucking rich. Made worse by the fact that for all intents and purposes, youtube IS a monopoly. Who are it's competitors? Dailymotion? Vimeo? Neither are mass-appeal sites. Their other competitor was vidme who died. Meaning that despite all of this, *this is the only viable platform if you want to make it big with your content.* Also, such a thing as ethics exists, mate. Yes it's technically within their right to do this, however The fact that it's selectively enforced, the fact that KZbin DOES manipulate it's algorithms, and the fact that youtube doesnt care at fucking ALL about the small video maker is reason enough to be fucking upset. I personally wish more of the people i followed had alt Daily motion accounts or something.
