@dmf13012 жыл бұрын
The legal system is built on the presumption of innocence until proven guilty by way of the process - the accused is given every consideration to be allowed to defend themselves. That's what they mean by innocent until proven guilty. You are allowed to defend yourself (which also includes - in this context - having a lawyer by your side to speak for you). But the police work on assuming guilt. They then hand the criminal over to the legal system to prepare to defend himself, and their job is done. It's the job of the police to catch the criminal, and the job of the legal system to determine his or her guilt or innocence. You DO live in the most lenient country on earth - the legal system is built on the presumption of innocence, whether you see that or not. Do you think women jailed or executed for offences in the Middle East are given ANY chance to even speak for themselves - let alone given a lawyer and a trial system to rigorously defend themselves!

@@mercedyzmarieguion292 at the same time, people don’t like hearing about how Christians whole lives revolve around a book. If you’re coming to me to and are non stop talking about god and all that then you are shoving it down ppls throats. Keep it to yourself, others don’t need or care about your religions. At least no Atheist does, never once seen an Atheist push their beliefs onto someone else they just keep it to themselves. So if you want to be respectful, just keep it to yourself.
