I was in the audience at this recording( aged 18 and down from Scotland for a trip to London ). Brilliant cast and everyone spoke to the audience before and after the performance.interesting to see how the sets were laid out( one main in centre and two wings) and the outdoor scenes were shown on tv monitors and audience reaction recorded. No canned laughs- that’s us laughing live.

This show is one of those things which I don't have to be nostalgic about. I remember thinking it was terrific then, when I was a "sophisticated" schoolboy, and if I was seeing it for the first time now, I'd think it was brilliant. Thank you OuijaBird!

@XxxMaria94xxX Yes, they are the same. The slang actually comes from the same word for a quantity of plug tobacco which used to be used in the place of money years ago in certain British colonies in the carribean.

I've never gotten British currency. What's the difference between a quid and a pound? Is it like 25 cents to a dollar?

Late, but yes quid=pound as buck=dollar. Comes from "quid pro quo" (this for that).

isnt it enough that people can enjoy the comedy without nitpickers like you who love to pretend they are somehow superior by correction bothering everybody all the time..why don't you join up with Lyn Truss and release another uninterseting read??
