We must have been around at roughly the same time (although I'm UK). We petitioned our local council to build us a skate park in the mid/late 90s and that's where we used to spend 12+ hours a day just skating. When I go back to my home town I see our park (it's changed too) and reminds of the good ol' days, which are deffinitely gone - the park is basically empty any time I've seen it in the last few years.

Bummer they nerfed it like that! Was the wood breaking down because they didn't maintain it or something?

Ya from what I heard it was just too expensive to maintain. Started with removal of the full size vert and then a few years later the rest of the park followed. Sad days.

So I just started skating last week, and I got the Twister XTs because of your review. I was curious though, do you use any type of specific socks for skating? I haven't skated in YEARS so I basically have just been skating late at night where no one can see me >.< I haven't fell yet though.

No specific sock brand, just use a tall sock.
