The proper name for someone who gives a professional massage is massage therapist (full name LMT which stands for licensed massage therapist.) The licensing process is more complex and time consuming than most people realize. New York state specifically has the most stringent requirements for LMTs: a little over 1,000 hours of education in an accredited school (courses include Anatomy and Physiology, medical conditions, massage techniques, etc), a license exam that's only available twice a year, and yearly CE classes once the therapist has been licensed. I should know: I was a massage therapist for a few years, before I decided to switch to data science. 😊

When you travel to different offices for work, why exactly do you do that instead of something like Skype? What requirements are needed to be met for the company to spend money on travel?
@clem5 жыл бұрын
There's a lot of value to having face-to-face time with other people, especially when you have a lot of people who need to talk to each other and perhaps actually work with each other (i.e., design features, pair program, etc.). While video-conferencing is great these days, it still doesn't fully replace face-to-face time. Now does that justify spending thousands of dollars to fly a bunch of people halfway across the world for a week? Well, if you're Google and you basically print money, then yes 😛Otherwise, maybe not.
