@@robertl.gyorgyi7911 I upgrade to the 4k Chromebook this year for cheap. It really depends on what you use a laptop for. Write down your use cases and see which laptop fits your needs. Chrome OS has gotten a lot of cool updates and is way more useful. They also have Chromebook Plus laptops now.

I live the smartphone/laptop life and it's the perfect combo. I also switched to a chomebook about 4 years ago and I love it. I've had the same one this whole time still starts up instantly and still just as quick as before. Battery life is fantastic I usually get about 10-11 hours of usage. I was a little skeptical about going all in on cloud storage and away from local storage and I gotta say I was worried for nothing. There's an extra layer of convenience. You're working and everything is automatically saved in the cloud as you're working so if you need to print something or share a file with someone you can easily do so from your phone since it's saved in the could. Efficient and convenient. Not mention there are some Chromebooks that are dirt cheap (like $250) and for me as a college students that's perfect.

I love my Chromebook. For the price, it does the things I do most. I use additional apps. What I love about it is that he has -- never been a headache because it is simple. And I don't even have fast internet in my area yet unless I get Starlink. Video or music editing can be done online (with good internet) I believe many will want to do animation, video, or music creation with a Mac or another OS device even though this will change with widespread faster 5g, home speeds increasing "where available" then we will do much more online.

Picking up mine tomorrow. I am now in the process of changing my entire ecosystem from Apple to Google. Have 2 chromecast ultra's, Google Nest Mesh (love the fact that the points are speakers!!), Stadia (yes it is amazing!), and have a Pixel phone, etc. Casting to multiple TVs from my phone is awesome.
