Christ came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the worst. Paul said that. He didn’t say, of whom I WAS the worst. He said, “I AM the worst…” He never once said, God, please forgive me again!” He said - in talking about the grace and forgiveness and justification that he HAS: “Thanks be to God through Christ Jesus…” Rest in HIS completed work. Either Christ did it ALL, or He did nothing at all. I rest in His Grace and His making me COMPLETE in Christ!

Absolutely on point. If you don't do so already, I have a suggestion: when I pray, I tell the Lord (even though He obviously knows this) that I'm chief among sinners. Not only as an honest confession, but also a way to rely on His Spirit to keep me humbled and grateful. Have a safe and blessed day.

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. - Philippians 2:12-13

The grace of God is constantly misunderstood and this short but effective sermon explains beautifully why. As an evangelist, I always remind people that by FAITH in the finished work of JESUS on the cross, plus NOTHING else sanctified, justified and saved us. If not, then we-s ALL be condemned to hellfire. Our Lord IS gracious, merciful and forgiving IF we confess and repent.

Heavenly Father, only you know the burdens I face please bless my children. As a single mom it can be hard to have everything on your shoulders. Especially because both of my sons are autistic. It’s difficult to raise children alone but despite the challenges I face I keep faith in you Lord. As I struggle to pay rent and as I struggle to buy groceries for my children. Jesus deliver me from my anxieties, and my troubles. Give me strength. Since suffering a heart attack two years ago and my on going battle with lupus I’m overwhelmed. Help me to find strength when I am weak, And hope when I am afraid. I will keep faith no matter what I face. ❤

You should study Matthew 6:2. Why did you post that? Who did it really serve? Do you believe that you are somehow educating God on what it is to be a single mother? Does God not know that your children have autism? Are you the only single mother with kids who have a disability? What about the single mothers with kids without disabilities? What about single father's? What about underage kids who live on the street? God promised we will suffer. We are to do so in a way that honors God. You can fool the people. God sees the heart.

Everytime I read the bible, no matter what I read, I see more and more of my sins, but I can't see me growing in holiness. I hear people all the time talking about their "new heart" as though they are literally transformed instantly from a hateful, bitter, perverted, etc, into a sinless wonder to behold. I don't actually know if I'm being transformed (sanctified) or not. All I ever hear is testimonies of a "whammo!" transformation, but never testimonies of biblical sanctification. Why is it taking so long for me, if I am justified at all? What does biblical santification REALLY look like and where are the verses that back it up?
@zeljkajukic5602 Жыл бұрын
1.see your sins (sign of sancitification) 2.realising you need Jesus because he took sins 3.actively doing decisions in alignment with the Word of God 4.choosing not to willfully do or watch certain thing ->holy spirit creates this will inside of you this is not you
@tori_va807 Жыл бұрын
It will be easier if you submit and obey the Holy Spirit. The Bible says, "Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you." So if you submit, that is listen to and obey, the devil (and temptation) will be easier to resist and you'll see the change

1 John has descriptors of a true Christian. Examine yourself by it and see if you do not yet know the Lord.
@madjackie523 Жыл бұрын
Where are the Scriptures explaining progressive sanctification? Is it a sudden, miraculous transformation or is it a long slow progressive change? My scriptural reference is Peter and the disciples at Pentecost and Paul. ALL of them received the Holy Spirit and became instantly bold and courageous to the point of being threatened and beaten repeatedly yet kept going. I, however, am still struggling with simply remembering His Word and fighting even the simplest of sins like not gossiping when a co-worker is gossiping at me. If there are no Scriptures for slow, progressive sanctification, why should I believe it? As for 1 John, all I ever feel is condemned when I read it. Therefore, I am NOT saved!!!! Add that to not being able to perceive ANY change in me, how can I truly believed I'm saved???

I hear this as well and I always think of the 4 types of seeds in the sower's parable in Matt 13 and Luke 8. Some seed falls to the ground and is eaten by the birds. Some fell in the shallow rocky soil and sprung up immediately and withers in the heat of the sun. Some fell amongst the thorns and briars and after springing up was choked out by the thorns. And some fell in the good earth and grew roots and bore fruit 100, 60, or 30 fold. Do not compare your salvation to that of others. Most do not bear fruit. Those that bear fruit have humility, faith, love, self control etcetera. If God be for you none can be against you. Study your Bible and pray and do your best to live a righteous life for God shunning the things of the world. Tell others about Christ from the depth of knowledge you have gained by reading his word. So that you may show yourself approved. Do not let yourself be withered in the sun or choked by the briars. Know that Jesus Christ died for your sins. He did it all for you. Nothing you do of yourself guarantees your salvation. None of your works are good enough. But you can store up riches for yourself in heaven by being meek and patient and by allowing God to speak through you to witness to others. Not with anger but with love. He saved you. Rest easy in that knowledge for when God does a thing he does it to perfection. That does not make you perfect, but it is a process of becoming more Christlike by turning away from sin. Love your neighbor as yourself and forgive others, and follow God's word. Fear not, for the Lord is with you even unto the end of the World.

What's justification n sanctification
@jameswhite7997 Жыл бұрын
Justification is a one-off declaration by God that we are totally forgiven all our sins because Jesus bore God's judgement of them in our place on the cross. Simultaneously declaring us righteous with Christs perfect righteousness. We stand before God perfect and righteous as opposed to guilty and condemned. Sanctification is the life-long work of God's in us making us more like Jesus by His Word and Spirit. Thankfully our performance does not affect our justification in the slightest. Our growth in holiness is often slow and imperfect. Thank God we stand on the solid ground of being right with God through faith by grace because of the cross.
@ahuman4386 Жыл бұрын
@@jameswhite7997 I hope you don't mind but I copied your comment and have it printed out. (with your handle name and one corrected error, you put " 's " for God in us making us more like Jesus...as we all are imperfect but the words are true 🙂 ) With what Pastor Voddie said and your comment to remind me what Jesus did and for me to stop worrying and to keep loving God and doing His will and to live for God and not of myself. Christ said "It is finished" and I need to keep that in my heart. Thank you for this.

The entire sermon is here on yt, search for "Sermon on the Mount Overview l Voddie Baucham". You should understand Sanctification and Justification after listening to that.
@xavierthomas5835 Жыл бұрын
@jameswhite7997 as much as I agree with what you've said of justification, I have come to a different understanding of sanctification. It is not so much a process as it is a promise. It isn't something that must be continued as it must be conceived. It's beginning is also its end, because that Jesus's blood is the impetus for sanctification. As Paul says, "having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by works, or by flesh?" Most take it simply to mean that we sre made perfect by faith empowered works, not faith accompanied works, but that's simply too stifling to the point. If that were the case, it would be more like as James said, I'll show you my faith by my works. What he's clearly saying is rather, faith has completed our perfection as well as our justification. Being justified freely includes being sanctified freely.

I believe that some of these so called pa😢stors that work up the congregation, then towards the end start making them feel guilty and ask them to come forward and say the sinners prayer (that’s not even in the Bible) or push them to rededicate their Christian walk with God, are using the “Dale Carnage training program” on them. Some pastors prolly study Dale Carnage books more than the Holly Bible. I knew a coulple that had The whole collection of Carnage books on shelves behind their desk oh their offices. I know 2 that lost their church’s and never recovered and we on with an other profession. Prolly selling a product.

Mr. Baucham, when you preach the Gospel, the blood must be preached, or there is no Gospel. Hebrews 9:22 KJV Faith must be in the blood. Romans 3:25 KJV. The Gospel for the Gentiles can be found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV.
